not happy with gm service!

as the title says really not happy with gm service dpt. i dropped my car off monday for them to re finish my 4 rims because of of chipping and pealing of the powdercoat and tells me my car will be ready wednesday... so i call them wednesday and tell the guy i will be down near the dealer today and if i should just wait around and pass some time while my car is getting done... he tells me yea thats a good idea the car will be ready b4 6 but i can come anytime b4 8 to pick it up so i call my gf too meet me at the mall to pass the whole afternoon and around 5 30ish i decide too go pick the car up i get there and another service manager tells me thats my car is in the body shop and the body shop closes at 5! and the computer says my cars not done yet... the think that pisses me off the most is how do you not know that the body shop closes at 5!!! and forget to tell me that..

like i waited around the whole damn day doing nothing and at least the guy could of called me and let me know not to wait around and to just come back tomorrow...

end of my rant....

I'm tired of my dealer giving me false information. They are seriously idiots. You could get a group of us on this website together and we'd do a much better job than most of the dealers i go to lol.

This sounds just like what happened to Jody...not only did they have the rims for far too long they lost them once in the process. They finally found them in Windsor apparently (was there NO place closer than Windsor?) but by this point he'd been driving on his snows for almost two weeks in the 25 degree weather on the highway. Once he got GM customer service involved things started to pick up but he still had to call multiple times. Just for GMs sake though the dealership he was going to is run by a bunch of monkeys, I wouldn't even take my car when I lived in Stratford I'd drive it down here instead.

Hopefully you get things cleared up

I actually got my rims refinished on tuesday, they were all scuffed and scratched up, the body shop sent my rims off to a wheel specialty shop, did it completely under warranty.

Dropped the car off at 9am picked it up a 4pm.

If you have problems with your dealer, try taking it to another GM dealer. A GM warranty is a GM warranty, and it doesnt matter which dealer work is done at. Thats what my parents did with their GMC Jimmy when they bought that a few years back.

Somewhat on topic:
My sister has an 05 Hyndai Accent, which honestly is a pretty good little car, but her dealer was giving her the run around, charging her for warranty covered things, over charging for parts... So she took it to another local Hyndai dealer, has never had a problem with the new place.

Lets see where do I start on Dealer ship Idiots???

I have a cracked lower rocker plate so I get approval that this is a factory defect & they order the part & I drop it off after the body shop calls & states they got the part. Now upon dropping it off I find I don't get a loaner car due to it being less than a 8 hour repair so OK.
I get off work & get a ride to pick up my car & the body shop tells me the part was defective so they didn't do anything WTF Now they order another one they call me & I go to drop off the car & I'm about out of the parking lot & I get a call on my cell phone that the new part is warp & defective to ?????

Now I'm thinking on the next call I will open the part my self & check it for them,,, after 3 other parts they finaly got a good one

So now I find out one of my CV boots are ripped & they said that was a comon problem with the Montys but they have not seen it on the Cobalts so they will cover it under warranty.
I drive it up Sunday night and drop it off & I pick it up monday night & they said the boot is an order part & there sorry as they thought they had one,,,, now I'm really mad as they didn't even install & paint the rocker panel

So I noticed now the actual metal rocker panels above the plastic one is painted with a paint that looks like sandpaper as the clear coat is missing & it's dull & after going round & round with the body shop manager & showing him new cars on the lot & mine they agree to paint both sides of the car on both rockers, they will replace the plastic rocker panel & fix the CV boot but it will take 2 days & they will give me a car for both days

I drop it off Monday night & pick it up Wednesday night & I warned them you better have the parts the paint & it better be done or I will call my Lawyer & use the lemon law to get a new car as here in Iowa we have a lemon law 3 thimes charm for the same problem and thisis # 3 for the Rocker panels alone!

I was promised it will be done & it will be fixed so I will see?

Sorry for the rant but I saw this thread & tried to stay away but you know how that goes

The sad part Joe is that when your rims come back they will be worse than when they left. These ******' things aren't even refinished at the factory. A place called wheels unlimited in Windsor does them and they do the shittiest job in the world. The goddam service manager at my dealer called the manager at Wheels unlimited and he said that he would "oversee" it and when it came back it was ****** worse than the last 3 times they tried to fix it. Once refinished the paint will never be the same again.

That's Dean Myers for you...it once took them 5 days to change a tire for me (no joke). After 3 days in the shop they tell me that my rim was damaged beyond repair and that I needed a new one..Total joke at that place. Couple that with the fact that I was told to come in twice when it was "apparently" ready only to be sat down with the service manager and apologized to because either the tire was out of stock or that the new rim hadn't arrived.

I actually have to bring my car in tomorrow for service...I'll more than likely go to another dealer...
