Airbag service light
it means that there is a problem some where in the system that needs attention and in a collision it would be like rolling the dice they may or may not deploy, so if your still under warrenty take it in

is there anything under your seats cause it seemed to do something weird to mine whnen i had a bottle of water under the passenger seat now it is fine not sure what it was but it helped
I had mine in today and they needed to order a part for my seat/seat belt. not sure what it was called... but its something there. if your still wondering i can look on the work order once i get it back and tell u exactly
oddly mine just started doing it too, it comes on when i take my first turn, and it doesnt really turn off until i turn the car off, and then again it will remain off until i make a turn...
Alrightie! Mine is alllll fixed!
so the issue was "passenger seat belt sensor tensioner" .... weird eh!? so they replaced "seat belt&retractor due to broken wire" if you want more specifics just ask but thats what my problem was!

Airbags aren't typically something you want to play around with. If you do decide to investigate them, I strongly suggest you unplug your battery and wait 10 minutes before probing wires with a multimeter. Do NOT use a self powered test light.
best bet is to just take it to a dealer, airbags do contain high explosives... Or if you're out of warranty, a good shop.
not really related to the Cobalt, but some of the first airbags used contained the equivalent to 8 sticks of explosives, and were very powerful.
