Getting paranoid about Dealership's work

My neighbor likes to inject paranoia into me, and I am not happy.

Long story short, I got my tranny fluid changed today at the dealership.
I was not there to see if they did it or not.

My neighbor tells me they most likely took my $220 and did absolutely nothing.

The transmission is encased, no dipstick and I have no idea where they even suck the old fluid out and put in the new.

I had popped the hood open after hearing this paranoia and I couldn't tell you if they did anything at all.

Is there some way I can tell if they did swap the tranny fluid?

They did this at 33k miles saying it is part of the required service.

I doubt it because my fluid at almost 50k miles is still really clean...so just checking it to see if it looks clean wont help. Also, the SS (F35 tranny) requires a special tranny fluid that most dealers don't stock so most likely if they did do it I bet the used cheap shitty stuff.

Next time just do the work your self.

I just said a few post up that that wont do any good. I have 50k miles on my car and my fluid looks really clean.

So basically I got a redundant service done.
Possibly nothing done at all.

Does anyone have a pic of the cap where the fluid goes in?

This is on a 2.2 LS

That dealership ripped you off regardless if they did the change or not.

If you look at your owners manual, the trans fluid requires changing at 50,000 miles only if the vehicle falls in the severe service catagory.

They basically just stole $220 from you for a service that was not required or needed.

I'd be calling GM to file a complaint.

if the car is an Automatic, the fluid is suppose to be changed every 100,000 miles according to GM. I refuse to believe that. I change my trany fluid in all my vehicles at 30,000 miles, i drop the pan and change the filters. I have yet to have a vehicle have any transmission issues, this includes my 2002 Windstar that was shifting great when i sold it with 219,000 miles on it.

That alleviates some of the pain right there, I will chalk it up to extending my tranny's lifespan.
