Potentially new BIG problem!!!
Potentially new BIG problem!!!
Well.....so I think this is a completely NEW potential big problem:
If you've read another thread I've posted you know that once my wheels started to hop at the strip, I went into 2nd gear and my car immediately went into ENG PWR REDUCED mode (safe or limp mode). Well, I went over my car with the GM tech who fixed my car and this is what happened:
My (aftermarket)Charge Piping bounced up and down(the part that goes right over the fuel pump and sensor is the only part that really has a lot of play in it) during the wheel hop....and it popped down and broke the sensor. Not completely off, so that's why I could not find anything wrong visually when I checked it out. But the CPiping sits an inch or less above that sensor and it did not take much at ALL to bounce the piping and break it.
GM cannot just replace the sensor, they had to replace the whole ****** fuel pump too and it was $800. LUCKILY that tech kept it out of the eyes of the service manager since I was a cool loyal customer and they replaced it under warranty.
Now I'm terrified to go back to the track with it! Please try and find your own way to block or protect that sensor from being broken......and yourselves from having this happen!

I'll plead the 5th but lets say it rhymes with Rahn. :P It's just that there is 3 or 4 feet or so betwen where the piping mounts to the turbo and the IC so it's not really thier fault but definately an issue.
It's the first time I've heard of the sensor getting broken. The charge piping has come loose and torn someones wiring for that sensor apart before, though. Stock charge piping doesn't do this, so it's not really a huge problem.
Woulda got a better/lower pic of it but the car is not anywhere near me right now. Hope that helped. If you see this pic and look under your own hood you will clearly see it.
neither does mine
neither does mine

Get the Injen pipes...it won't be anywhere near the fuel pump...
