Most good aftermarket pipes are anchored. The Hahn are not. Honestly, I'd rather have stock than the Hahn pipes. I've seen them, and the way the stock ones flatten out aren't as bad as folks make it out to be.

That being said, I wouldn't mind swapping to ZZP charge pipes sometime.

Lol, I thought this thread was 4 days old. Oops, didn't see the year. I guess the hood dent feature doesn't sound as bad, anymore.

This happened to me on my very first track day!! I made this with the help of a friend, Aluminum menages heat better than hann's metal, lighter too. This will solve the whole issue by keeping the pipe VERY secure and far from harms way. Any local shop can make this for you for sure.

IMO, charge pipes should be made out of poor thermal conductors. Meaning aluminum is a bad choice. Unfortunately, that's what most people make them out of.

True especially for the coldside pipe but the stockers fail easily. Steel is not much better choice but that is what mine are made off.

The stock Cold stock pipe or both? I think issues with these come from 1) the clip on the Hot pipe mount which was *fixed* via recall 2) Aftermarket ICs witch may place more stress on the stock pipes. I have stock pipes/ IC and all is well.

Shooot mine broke so I checked checked resistance from one side to the other side.. then solderd the broken connection back together and used abs epoxy and now,its good as new. Resistance is the same and car runs great. No more code.... when I epoxied it I had the connector point down so it wouldn't happen again. I know gm wants 388.83 for it and it'll take the deler 5 buissness days to get it... but in goood now. Its very unnoticable. ..

If you've read another thread I've posted you know that once my wheels started to hop at the strip, I went into 2nd gear and my car immediately went into ENG PWR REDUCED mode (safe or limp mode). Well, I went over my car with the GM tech who fixed my car and this is what happened:

My (aftermarket)Charge Piping bounced up and down(the part that goes right over the fuel pump and sensor is the only part that really has a lot of play in it) during the wheel hop....and it popped down and broke the sensor. Not completely off, so that's why I could not find anything wrong visually when I checked it out. But the CPiping sits an inch or less above that sensor and it did not take much at ALL to bounce the piping and break it.

GM cannot just replace the sensor, they had to replace the whole ****** fuel pump too and it was $800. LUCKILY that tech kept it out of the eyes of the service manager since I was a cool loyal customer and they replaced it under warranty.

Now I'm terrified to go back to the track with it! Please try and find your own way to block or protect that sensor from being broken......and yourselves from having this happen!
I'm running stock cpiping and this just happened to me..
