Alright so my gf's car had the "key stuck in ignition" problem... i took apart the shifter and console and the rod that hits the silonoid is stripped inside the shifter to where it doesn't hold it properly so that part is no longer in the shifter (not a big deal i taped over the switch and it works fine... lets teh key out. but while i was puttin back together the shifter crap my shirt (long sleeves) got caught on the black plastic piece inside the shifter and broke it off.

inside the pole... my black piece was actually sticking out of the pole unlike in the picture

now you dont have to push the button for it to shift into gear. (aka you can just push it right down like the car is off and it'll move!) anyone have an idea to fix this? (i no longer have the black piece, she threw it away) do i need to find her a new shifter? is that even possible to replace?

would i be able to buy this in a kind of plug n play fashion? or would i be able to fix this somehow?

i wouldnt mind not having to press brake and button to shift out of park...just sayin

just be careful if you go to neutral to not put it in reverse

 

the GF decided she likes the not pushin a button lol so i not gettin it... but i would like to know if its an easy plug n play?
