Question about Adding Fuel / Air Mixture Gauge
Not sure if this is the best spot for this message.
When I baught my Cobalt, I traded in my old Dodge Shadow. It needed an O2 Sensor,
and so I still have the new unused O2 Sensor for my shadow? Is it possible/ practical
to do a mod to install it in my Cobalt exhaust system so that it runs ONLY a FUel / Air mixture gauge?
I'm guessing I"ll need to make some sort of Voltage regulor to power it, No problem 1 Amp and below regulators are a sinch to make for 1 - 18 VDC thanks to the LM317 chip.
But since id be useing a Shadow's O2 sensor, im guessing id need a Shadow's gauge? Designed to read off of that sensors...
So where should/ could I put it? The sensor that is?
Or would this not really work so well?

you could but you could also tap into your stock wiring to run an AFR gauge, but to run a WIDEBAND you will need to get a different sensor all together. They are five wire, vs stock o2 sensors are four wire. Some cars come stock with a five wire if you wanted to do it cheap though I am sure you could find an EVO, WRX or some other car that has a five wire and do exactly this.
