^^ same here with a DC strut bar. Doesnt look as nice, but its just as strong and ill sell it cheaper. :)

^fyi not trying to one up you zdeuce. If you're getting it for appearance, the MRZ one is probably the way to go. if you're getting it more for function, the DC is probably a better choice

Id have to disagree. Ive been in vehicles with them (before and after installation) and I have felt a difference in the firmness and handling.

is just one of the sites that you can see what I mean. This explains exactly the difference I had felt in the vehicle.

So youve been in a cobalt with one?

Again OP, dont waste your money. For our cars, and they way they are setup from the factory, a front strut bar is nothing more than a placebo effect.

agreed, the strut towers are at the firewall, so you can't get much more reinforcement than that.

if your wanting to tighten up the front end, look into a front subframe bar > strut tower brace

I talked to an GMPP engineer about this and they have tested strut bars. They have stated from data they do NOT do anything for the Cobaltj performance wise. It would only be for looks.

Ive never been in a cobalt with strut bar. So its only for looks so why do they say on their sites that "they do this and that"....i guess for suckers like me....lol. What about a sway bar, same thing? No performance difference.

On MRZ is says "will eliminate flex in the front upper unibody"

A "sway" (anti roll) bar will help the handling if it is sized right. You can tweak the understeer / oversteer characteristics by changing the front and rear arb's.

If you have a j body (or a civic:lol:) a strut bar will stiffen up the structure and improve the handling, the delta platform is rigid enough that a strut bar makes no difference.

I bought the MRZ and couldnt be happier. To finish it off, get the caps for the strut towers. Just use some silicone adhesive to afix them to the tops. Also the acorn nuts they sell ( you get two for each side ). you want to get the THIRD one to finish it but I found them at either home depot or lowes for a lot less and no shipping. you will need to add (in my case since I did brushed aluminum)a spacer though to compensate for the additional space that the strut takes up.

I dont know if its my imagination, but the body roll does feel stiffer.
