2nd gear???
2nd gear???
I am haveing a big problem shifting into second.. When I am trying to race it will not go into second at all. The clutch is to the floor and when I try to go into second it is like something is blocking the shifter. I have to slow down tremendously before it will let me shift. I won 3 out of 5 races last night and would have won them all if I could get the car in second. Anyone have any advice???
Dude i have the 2.2L and im having the same problem, It only lets you go into 2nd when ur at a slower speed. I think it could be the sink rows, Not positive tho so don't compleatly go with that. Im about to pull my trans and find out so i'll let u know more when im done..

You guys are flooding the clutch. Youre giving it too much gas when you shift, and the clutch isnt catching. Heres how to fix it:
1. Take it easy on the clutch, NO POWER SHIFTING!!!
2. When changing gears, take your foot COMPLETELY off the gas and engage 2nd BEFORE depressing the gas again.
3. O before I forget, NO POWERSHIFTING! Use the clutch, and treat it good. I have Stage 2, a CAI, and my clutch catches fine. The only time I ever have clutch slippage is when Im being an ass and smoking the tires, which you wouldnt do in a race anyways.
4. Throttle control is paramount. If you sit there spinning the wheels, putting on a smoke show, its going to add un needed stress on the clutch.
I hope this helps you guys. Dont sweat the clutch slippage. When I first got my SS/SC I flooded the clutch multiple times, and had terrible launches. It all comes with practice and time.
