Gas mileage avg

Driving a Cobalt SS/NA 2.4L(SLO-BALT) getting AVG of 26.6 MPG. Anyone getting worse/better? Got any tips? Iv been wondering how the Cobalt SC/TCs do on gas.

Also im about to buy larger tires from 205/50/17 to 225/45/17. Anyone know if gas mileage will be effected by this upgrade?

Thanks

you should be getting at least 30 miles more to a tank in an SS/NA. I know in both my SC and TC I averaged around 320 miles a tank and that's not all highway either. How fast are you driving on the highway?

33 - 34 on my 2.4 dd, about 80 miles a day on the highway @ 65 mph, 10 miles a day in city.

Best tank was a tick over 41 mpg, long 70 mph cruise on the highway - needed a tailwind to get that mind you

My old 2.4: I averaged about 26-28 mainly city, but a little highway driving.
New new SS/TC: I average about 24-26 mainly city, but a little more highway driving.

Tires?

Anyone know of larger tires than stock will effect the amount of gas mileage you can get?

Larger tires generally = more drag which can affect fuel economy.

I have an '09 SS/TC and from what I've generally noticed when it comes to highway driving: consistant 55-60mph=34-35mpg. 60-65mph=31-33mpg. 65-70mph=29-30mpg. 70-75mph=27-29mpg. I'm not sure if the high-rise spoilers really makes that much a difference but these are with the high spoiler. These cars are VERY sensitive with mpg. With my '97 TA WS6 6spd, I can do anything from 60-90mpg and still get 26-29mpg. The turbo plays a large role with the Cobalts.
