H&R springs on Cobalt SS

Hey guys need some assistance, just installed the springs on my SS,looks great aligned perfectly thanks to someone elses recommendation on elongating the lower strut mount for camber adjustment. Here's the problem though in lower gears 1st and 2nd accelerating gently it feels like something is shaking the entire car, like a bad tire balance or something.I have checked everything over again and nothing is out of place?

Any ideas or experiences w/ this?

Thanks in advance

BTW we just purchased the HP tuners Cobalt SS tuning software and she is on the dyno right now,I'll keep you posted.

FYI looked into it a little further and althouh I have no reasonable explanation as to why the shake was so much more noticeable after the springs were installed I have found the culprit. The engine is shaking side to side under light loads and acceleration.Does anybody offer urethane or solid mounts.the stock ones are horrible.I can actually move the engine side to side with my hand.

I would suggest you take your car to the dealer and have them look it over, could be more of a problem then you think. JMO

i'm having the same prob, but it doesnt shake my entire cxar, just like if the tires were out of balance...i figured it would be the mounts do tot he fact that the lower stance you can feel everything. i also have slight click noise when i turn hard right like something loose. I check ed the top strut mounts and everything is on correctly...I'm not really worried about that. but for the vibration i'm just gonna try the torque forward engine dampners and see from there.

I just lowered my cobalt ss with h&r springs and its doing the same as the other posts. It has a small shake when you slowly accelerate. I noticed it does it a little more when I back out of my driveway and then go forward. As soon as you start moving it goes away. If anyone knows what it could be please post your ideas.

I am also having that problem, its not to bad. I was wondering if you were to put the strut bar on would that take away the vibartion?

well me and njbluess found out the possible reason for this. the H&R springs drop the car so much that it changes the angles of the axles. According to him even the time attack car had to modify how the the motor sat in place. the other possiblity is that the motor is torqueing alot and being that the car is lower you feel it more along with the road. so the option for that is getting the torque dampners.

I don't have H&R springs but I am lowered. I did notice that since it's been dropped I get a lot more torque steer.

How about when someone steers and hears the spring compressing or decompressing? This feels like a slight problem i have. Although annoying its not to bad, just wondering what the hell it is!

Yeah man those H&R's lower the Balt a lot. If you have the loot for coilovers do it.
Here is a link to every set of Cobalt coilovers available right now.

If you don't have the loot go with Eibach Sportlines. You will love them.
