would the new muffler take away any power of the supercharger...I ask this because awhile back people on here stated that the exhaust on the SS/SC was specificly designed for the SS/SC with the right size pipes and because it has a supercharger....so by changing this up...would it maybe even hurt the performance...Im really just looking for a better sounding pipe.

I seriously doubt an aftermarket muffler would decrease performance.

They way I understand it is, many of the parts on production cars often make compromises between performance and ease of production. Usually the aftermarket exhaust, intake systems can be improved on, but at the cost of increased expense and time to manufacture.

So there where the aftermarket companies come in. They spend more time and expense making lets say a set of header for a car. The air passageways may be smoother and free flowing than the stock headers, but the cost of the part is more because more time and expense goes into making it.

and cost of course. Gm wanted great performance from the SS and be able to bring it to market at a competitve price point. Bean counters have lots of say.

Very well put though.
