Ride Quality?

To all those who already have their SS's: How is the ride quality? I expect it to be pretty stiff with the 18's and stiff suspension... but how does it compare to, say, a base model cavalier? How does it ride over rough roads/broken pavement?

pretty good so far. I drive mostly hiway so the roads are pretty smooth anyhow. Hitting a pot hole can be pretty nerve rattling with the low profile tires.

Yes you want to avoid pot holes at all costs... for that mater large speed bumps also.

Well of course I try to avoid the pot holes!

I have to go over lots of speed bumps every days in my parking lot. Just go really slow over them.

You definitley have to be cautious of hard acceleration over uneven/cracked/bad roads. If you're on it pretty hard it seems to want to skip/skid/lose traction over bad pavement.
I think this is because of the stiffness of the suspension.
It's definitely a firmer ride than my alero was, and that was with intrax springs on the alero.

pretty smooth. need to lower it a touch more. I honestly have no problems with the suspension or ride.

I love the ride but it definitely hops when launching on less than smooth roads

Ride

In my view the ride is great considering the performance you get from the suspension. It seems like the first 1 inch or so of travel is fairly soft, after that it is definitely stiff, no complaints though. I do have an 04 Cav LS Sport, the ride is pretty much the same until you get into speed bumps, potholes or very rough roads. Just be carefull!
