OK, here's the situation.
I ordered a Cobalt SS/SC 7 weeks ago and my dealer said it would be here in 7 weeks. I called him yesterday and he still says that they don't have a build date yet but he is assuming it is being built right now and I will get it in about another 4 weeks. I put $1000 down on the car and now the first dealer i talked to phoned me and said they will have one tomorrow and I can come down saturday and drive it and maybe make a deal. The dealer that is getting the car tommorow said they can see through there computer system that the dealer that is suposedly getting my car doesn't show a black ss/sc on order at all for delivery of a 2005. Can they really tell this or is he giving me a line?
What should i do about my deposit? I need it back. The other dealer says that they can help me to get out of it and get my deposit back. Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do?

Being in saskatchewan i'm surprised that you got fed the BS that your car would be in in seven weeks... To my knowledge Canada had exceeded the amount of orders for 2005 awhile ago. I would go with the other dealer to get their SS, otherwise you're going to be waiting a lot longer than 4 more weeks.

 

get ur deposit back , i did as i bought and found anther ss/sc at the dealer.........tell u wanna cancell i cant afford ur insurance or i lost my job somthing like that thats what i did

 

Well I would wait till you actually see the SS from the other dealership and then go and get your deposit back. I'm dealing with something simlar I put down 500$ but I ordered around 11 weeks ago. Still dont have a build date and some dealerships are starting to get them in. I'm going to end up doing the same thing here if they dont give me a build date or I'm just going to go and purchase something else.

That dealer cant see what cars the other one has on order and if you did order your black car you will get it. If you cant get the same one though go for it but dont go after another car that you didnt want as much.

 

I would say that is incorrect. We have dealers on the forums here that have looked up orders and order status for the other members.

 

Go with the other dealership. Sound advice.
