Ordered an SS with Recaro waiting

I ordered an SS with Recaro, OnStar, Sunroof, XM, Arival Blue, Back in March 20 the dealership gave me a build date of April 18, But when I called on it on April 20 they told me that the build date was bumped up to May 1. The reason was that there is a backorder on the seats.

Is there anyone who has an SS with Recaro ordered or owns?

If you guys don't mind me askin, how much total did you pay for the SS with the G85 package? One guy I talked to here in Jersey paid 26K for a regular SS!! I would never pay that. The sticker at the NY auto show with the G85 said 23,910.

How did you go about getting the dealership to get you the free stuff. And when did you order your SS? And how did you get a final price without getting the car delivered?

OK. I ordered my car in October and added G85 on Feb 17. The free sunroof and XM was part of the October preorder deal. I have a final price since when I ordered the car the price was set since I put a deposit on it and that is the way the dealer works since they file into central ordering right away.

I posted this in another thread as well, but gmbuypower.com and chevrolet.com do not list G85 as an option anymore! It is GONE, folks!

That make me verrrrry nervous, as I refuse to order a FWD supercharged car without LSD. I mean the SRT-4, SE-R SpecV, etc all come with LSD and for good reason.

Edit: I was wrong. See below.

You are wrong it's there. It doesn't show up when you pick colored insert, but if you pick black inserts it shows up. The website just enforces the options and their dependancies.

Also I don't have the LSD and I really don't see the overwhelming need for it yet. Maybe if you get more power, but the tires have plenty of bite right now. Maybe if you wanna add extra weigh to the car

In the motortrend review they had an SS/SC with an LSD and they said they couldn't tell it was there. I think that if you want better handling you should upgrade the suspension first before spending 1500 bux on a large chunk of gears 1500 bux on the suspension will be better bang for the buck in my opinion.

Yep, just corrected my other post too. Thanks for pointing that out. I bet most people won't even know that the G85 package exists, since the web site defaults to colored inserts and there's nothing to tell you that you are missing out on another choice if you select it.

Here is a very important reason to have the LSD anyway.. bad weather! The LSD will give you a HUGE traction advantage over open differential in rain and snow. If you have one wheel on ice and one on pavement, you'll actually MOVE instead of sitting there going nowhere.

If you plan to mod (performance) your car at all, opt for the LSD. I have the '03 SRT-4, which came without one and recently bought an 04 tranny (cheaper than the LSD alone) and swapped it in. The difference in traction is night and day... I can actually get on it coming out of a corner now without BBQing the inside tire. And the car hooks in straightline accel as well (of course the 245/40ZR17 tires helped with that before the LSD). The LSD is well worth the money, and suspension upgrades are easier to do later than a LSD install

hmm...well the car does have an MSRP of $21,995, I'd say $22,000 with almost every option is pretty damn good. I don't know what you're smoking so

Ummmmmm..... that is $49 over invoice. I don't qualify for GMS or anyother program so I think as a regular customer that is a dam good price. Just wondering what you can get one for with no other programs involved than the free XM/sunroof?

this may be the 463rd time i heard you quote that $49 over invoice. My question to you is do they charge a $500 documentation fee, do they make you buy window etching for $399, do they make you buy the undercoating for $300, do they charge you 1% interest points over the rate you should be paying? Do they overcharge and oversell extended warranties, tire road hazard protection, gap insurance, credit and life disability insurance?? there are many ways to actually make money on a $49 over invoice deal, hell , $49 doesnt even amount to enough for them to pay the salesman who helped you!
