$49 over easily pays for the sales man/woman. Dealers have their own price structure from GM. The number for the dealer for any give car is well under invoice. The $49 is as I say. This is my third car from this dealer, so I've been over the invoices thoroughly. They offer (do not force) GM extended warranty, don't try to sell anything else and have NO "hidden" cost. This dealer is ALWAYS up front with the number with you. The way they are equally profitable with other dealers is thru shear quantity. I've seen days that they have 4 truck deliveries, and every car on the truck is theirs. I'm sure some of the salesman on this site can express the a little better than myself, but majority of the highest sales dealers seal in fleet sales. Some of the fleet sales dealers try to avoid sales to the average Joe Smoe because it’s more work. My dealer doesn't turn away a possible sale. They do fleet sales and personal sales. They have established a very good name for themselves. People come from up to a 2-3 hour drive away to buy their car there. Just to demonstrate what GM thinks of them, GM revoked a Buick, Pontiac, and GMC dealer’s license from another dealer near by and effectively forced them to close. That same day GM drove down the road and "gave" the license to my dealer. My dealer never even tried to ask for the license. The biz practices of my dealer are proof of economic rules, which is you can make more money selling more things at a lower cost. If this does not prove the number to you feel free to call them, PM me and I'll give you the number

Do they overcharge and oversell extended warranties, tire road hazard protection, gap insurance, credit and life disability insurance?? there are many ways to actually make money on a $49 over invoice deal, hell , $49 doesnt even amount to enough for them to pay the salesman who helped you!
and you are aware that a dealer makes a holdback on every vehicle they sell. 2-3 percent is the norm, and on a 20k vehicle this can be 4-600 so it is easy for a well run dealer to make this deal....

its the dealerships like these that make the little dealerships go out of business. at my dealership no one except the owner makes anything on hold back so the sales manager would make $0, the finance manager would make $0 and the salesman would make a measly $50 after taxes. factor in rent, the interest we pay on the vehicles, INSURANCE, salaries for the office workers, and all the bills that it takes to run the place I am sure they make all their money on suckers.
