sneaky 06-08-2006, 07:43 PM you can fix that. pair of pliers and a little muscle. good purchase on the DC bar. it's worth every $$
mugencivicsi 06-08-2006, 09:57 PM the part that looks bent up looks like it should be welded down to the "c" shape mount..
it the strut tpower brace is just welded at the back.. at least it looks like that, it will probrably snap.... unless they are excellent welds....
CTCOBALTSSS 06-08-2006, 10:05 PM That doesn't look right at all! How can that be right. With the way that seperation looks I don't think it could support any kind of weight. IMO!
biohazard 06-08-2006, 10:16 PM demand a new one under shipping error or something i doubt theyd send u one like that on purpose
Clmbngfrk18 06-08-2006, 11:21 PM the box was fine so i doubt it was shipping and i tried to squeeze it by hand and its strong. the other side isnt welded i just dont want it to rub on anything there isnt aot of space for it to clear where it goes
mugencivicsi 06-08-2006, 11:37 PM shipping could not have done that..
they sperated peices where not welded from factory.....
i had strut tower braces front back on my 91 civic and almost everything was welded and even.....
that came like that from DC Sports
Clmbngfrk18 06-09-2006, 05:19 PM yeah looks like they dont even open the boxs they just put a label on them and ship i guess buti sent them an email today wondering how to get a replacement lets see what happens
CTCOBALTSSS 06-09-2006, 05:31 PM yeah looks like they dont even open the boxs they just put a label on them and ship i guess buti sent them an email today wondering how to get a replacement lets see what happens
Good call! They forgot to weld one of the sides. That calls for a replacement IMO! :cussing:
Clmbngfrk18 06-09-2006, 06:31 PM well thats the thing the other side inst welded either its just painted so it look like one piece
TurboTechRacing 06-09-2006, 08:18 PM We are in contact with DC Sports on how they would like to take care of this issue. You will get a new one that is manufactured properly. Sorry for this issue.
Asphalt Assault 06-09-2006, 08:25 PM you can fix that. pair of pliers and a little muscle. good purchase on the DC bar. it's worth every $$
That bar is worthless. should be welded. if does not bend it will flex.
Clmbngfrk18 06-09-2006, 10:07 PM yeah i know if i bend it to where is supposed to be the metal will just be weaker than it is now

cool deal thank you this process has been really painless
ted5986 06-09-2006, 10:31 PM def call them and give them a piece of your mind......side note. i might be dumb but what does IMO stand for???
Clmbngfrk18 06-10-2006, 03:57 AM imo= in my opinion
but ive already emailed them they are taking care of it they got back to me really quick, same day couple hours later. like i said i dont think they knew it was like that the box didnt look like they had opened it to check so i have no reason to be mad at them this has been fairly painless it not like i can put it on right away im getting constant rain around here with no garage to use
sscobalt06 06-10-2006, 04:01 AM are there two diff. types of DC strut bars for the cobalt. Because I swear I have seen two diff. kinds on here.
Clmbngfrk18 06-10-2006, 04:50 AM no only one there is adiff pic that alot of companies use thats not it that just a generic one it looks like a dual bar with holes cut in the middle
BooSSted 06-10-2006, 12:24 PM Don't try and fix it. You paid for a good one and that is what you should get. Aaron will take care of you on this one, don't worry.
sneaky 06-10-2006, 12:31 PM That bar is worthless. should be welded. if does not bend it will flex.
my bar came in fine and installed in 5 minutes. Like I said I feel the difference and it's worth every $$. Too many people have the misconception that this bar sucks when in fact it's actually cost effective and works just as well if not better then most strut bars.
My front end flex was reduced alot and I live in an area that has crazy curves and that bar got everything nice and stiff :)
