Exclamation No door side molding (for preventing door dings)

Has anyone noticed that there isn't any trim on the doors for preventing door dings? I'm talking about the usual body-colored molding that usually runs from the front of the door to the rear wheel well. Even Corvettes have this. The first time someone opens their door when parked next to you... Ouch!

When I had an 86 Z28, it didn't have these either, but I ordered them from the 87 camaro parts list and put them on. My doors had a lot of dings before I put the moldings on!

The SS/SC doesn't, presumably to have a smoother overall appearance. All other trims have them though, with the LT's in chrome.

Which means I will look into ordering a color matched set from the coupe in order to put it on the SS. Every destination isn't going to be a huge Wal-Mart parking lot... There are PLENTY of times where you either park next to someone, or you don't park at all.

The SS emblem on the door seems to be about the same height though.

The reason why it doesnt have them is becuase it looks more sporty and sleek without them, you have to remember you bought an SS not a Sedan an SS isnt necesarily going to be the most functional in parking lots becuase its made to be driven fast not parked in a croweded lot.

So you are saying Corvettes are made to be parked in a crowded lot?
They have body side moldings...

Body Side Moldings

The C5 Corvette had an option for BSM. The C6 Corvette does not. There are no BSM on my precision red C6 sitting in my garage and I did not have them on my torch red C5. Personally, I don't particularly care for them, but they are on my Cavalier as that is how it came from the dealer. But the point is: not all Corvettes have them.

Yeah, I should have been more specific. It is an option and most Corvettes that I see, have them.
