Cobaltss.net decal problems??
Ok I got my ss.net decals ok, and anyways they sure don't seem to seal properly around the letters and edges! I cleaned my glass properly and everything, weather was warm, no direct sunlight blah blah.. Sorry no pics as of yet but this is the first day with them on (small side window decals).. So I'm just wondering whats up?? Anyone else having any problems? I bought 3 thankfully and now I'm thinking I'll put the remaining one below the rear license plate instead??
I didn't have any issues with mine. Did you use anything to apply them to the window? I didn't have my dads decal tools at the house, so I just used a plastic kitchen spatula, and it worked great.
Took the car to the was today, after giving the decals 2 days to settle, and they were fine.

I did not like mine. It was the wrong color yellow, plus it was not the size I was going for. I purchased the one for the windshield. I took mine to my friends vinyl shop he is going to make me one. He did say that a cheap vinyl was used, then he complained that I did not come see him in the 1st place. I explained that I wanted to support the site. The grade of the vinyl may have something to do with the sticker not sticking properly.....
ok thanks guys/gals
Ya maybe it needs time to settle to but anytime u buy anything its tough when it doesnt work out! I'll be taking pictures today.. thanks everyone
If all the edges seem to curl, but just slightly, it could be that they needed to replace the knife in their plotter when they cut the vinyl. A dull blade will cause that. If the edges are curling or lifting alot, then it may be what you used to clean it with. I only use isopropyl alcohol as it is the only thing that leaves no residue (detergents). Also, I do not use soapy water for the install, I install it perfectly dry, but I've been installing vinyl for almost 12 years as a full time job, though. If you used soapy water you have to make sure to get ALL the water out from underneath it or the edges will lift. As long as dirt hasn't gotten underneath those edges, you should be able to go back over the decal again to push the edges back down.
I have been wondering, though, what kind of vinyl they use. Anybody notice what it said on the backing (wax) paper?

All you have to do is peel the white piece of paper off and place the other part that has the lettering on the surface that you want it on. Then use a credit card or your license and wipe across the lettering to make sure that there isn't any bubble in the lettering.
