With the fastback profile and the shortish decklid, I don't think they'd sacrifice much in the looks dept. if they did make a Cobalt hatch. I'd klll for one, it'd be so much easier getting my bike inside here

Hell no...thats why they made that ugly Aveo for.

Althought I agree on you about having a system with a hatch, trunk rattle sucks.

I'm happy with the way the Cobalt is.

when i first saw them on tv without close inspection i thought it was a hatch, and from a side view without a wing it looks like it should be a hatch. and my sisters aveo has a trunk.. i guess im used to 2 door sports cars having hatches i guess.

that was always my comlpaint about the car, they should have mad it a a full Liftgate or Hatch, but I also under stand why they didn't. the car is much stronger and rigid with a full frame structure. plus it whould add at least another 100lb to the weight of the car with a Liftgate

the biggest thing the balt had going for it over the Tc usefullness wise was that it wasn't a hatch.

i just prefer to have a trunk like a real car.

p.s. it IS a fastback.

Ok for the people still not understanding what hatch they are talking about. Think of a Camaro or Trans Am. They have a hatch not a trunk lid.

it wouldn't be so bad if the opening to our current trunk wasn't so tiny. Hopefully GM improves that with the upcoming models

The Scion Tc is a fast back-style hatch back, the VW GTI is a 3 door hatch back, must specify, I'd opt for the fast back style.
