sleeper car...ideas?
Ok, this is not going to be a highly technical, asnwer only thread. I am looking for ideas and opinions. I've recently decided to go for somewhat of a sleeper theme for my car. Obviously since it is a supercharged car, it's kind of hard to hide the s/c. However, I have right now a 2.85" pulley which is not easily recognized, 42.5 injectors that you can't notice, and a maf-t that i wired up inside the cockpit. The only other recognizable mod is the Injen CAI. I want to do some more things without showing them. Perhaps take off the ss wing. I also want to redo the 2.25" part of the exhaust but keep the stock muffler (for sound). Any other suggestions/ideas?

My plas was gunna be ride around for a while stock in the SS S/C, then Go stright up 2.4 looking. 2.4 badge and all. Besides the whine of the S/C at high RPM's, most ppl wont be able to tell unless U pop the hood!
i.e Lower 2.4 Grill.
Get rid of the S/C Lip in the front.
Get the 2.4 Wing, or even the RKsport wing. Merc had it on the Red one, looks swweet
and take off the Supercharged badges.
Thow on some 2.4's and you'll be dozing off, almost all asleep!

Get LS springs and steel rims. then put on drag radials. will only be a give away if someone looks closely enough. Get LT badging and bumpers. Basically make it look like an LT.

Good luck man!
Thats kind of what I am going for. Only Cobalt Enthusiasts know that Im an SS/SC.
And thats because they know my wheels wont fit on the base models.
Other than that, people tend to think that I put a body kit on my car, and I get laughed at.
Really that is the reaction I was going for. Then when they try to race me, and end up staring at my liscence plate, it is 100x the fun for me than when I looked like an SS/SC.
Anyway, good luck!

thanks guys. definately going to do some appearance work to make it less noticeable. however, i'm also trying to figure out what other performance mods i can do to make it faster without it looking like a modded ss s/c. for example, the exhaust with stock muffler would be good...cutouts perhaps. even a header since you really can't see it from under the hood unless you look behind the motor. also poly motor/trans mount, springs for suspsension. probably also port the blower and cams if i can find a good set. also when i get a wideband/interceptor gauge, they will be hidden in the cockpit as well.i would like to go for something around 300whp with a mostly stock look. if they see just the intake, they'll probably think thats my only mod.
keep em coming guys!

Well if U don't lift up[ your hood, they wont know anything! lol
Just get a full exhaust, and tell ppl thats all U have. But Intense stg 5
Ingals tq brace
Yea, a header would be bad ass. Not sure which pone tho. I know theres one coming out soon thats supposed to be good. I think Vibrant
Strut tower brace
Poly Control arm bushings for the wheel spin
and a Short thow (B&M)
Thats all I can think of at the moment
This car would be sick as a TURE Sleeper!
A sleeper doesn't have to hide whats under the hood. Do whatever you want under there. A sleeper is all about outside looks. So, make it look like nothing. Lose the wing first and foremost. It's only purpose is to look fast. If you want, get an LS wing. They aren't nearly as eye catching, and fit in the same mounting holes. Lose all your badging. All of it. Get rid of "GM", "SS", "Cobalt", the Bow Tie on the back, anything that will come off. And, for an SS specifically, put the 2.4L lower grill in. It will close up the heat exchangers from view, making it look a little less obvious.

but yea, it will be sleeper from the outside. but also if they lift up the hood and realise its a supercharged ss, then i want 90% of the mods to not be noticeable. sneaky sneaky
