Ok Here's the run down at the end of next week I will have about 1 grand to spend on my cobalt I already have the gm stage w/2.8 at 245hp. Now heres the situation I don't know whether I want rims, and new brakes(which are not neccessary yet) or a 3" header downpipe and HP tuners. I am so confused I don't know which to do. Please help out and vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
be ready to change the breaks pads, when you do get ne rotors at the same time. ( no need to go bigger, just better. My powerslots are great)
hold off a bit on the header, there are still a couple of comanies in the works with there header and I know at least 1 is going to be 3" with factory mounting points.
so I'd say go breaks, and HP Tuners, 60lb injectors and smaller pulley

absolutely the header and downpipe (ZZP looks really good in my eyes) and a smaller pulley and 60# injectors and hptuners. little bit more than 1000 so get the header and downpipe for 500 and hptuners.. then get teh pulley and injectors
this all depends on what's more important to you. looks or performance?
brakes are ALWAYS a good idea to upgrade when modding a car. if you make your car faster, you have to be able to stop. powerslot rotors and ebc greenstuff pads would run you around $500 for all four. (just off the top of my head).
rims are hard to find and 18" tires are expensive. plan on spending over a grand for a wheel/tire package.
header will run you anywhere from $400-$900 depending, so I'd do a lot of research on that first. also, the stock s/c exhaust is mostly 2.5" piping and 3" exhaust is not going to net huge gains. I'd say get a muffler shop to make the exhaust 2.5" from the axle back (where it is 2.25 from the factory) and get a muffler and a high flow cat. hold off on the header for now.
HPTuners is a godsend for tuning in our cars. if you have the money, buy it. it will allow you to run smaller pulleys and bigger injectors and compensate for the weather. keep in mind though you will want to get a wideband o2 sensor for tuning purposes. they run around $250-$300.
personally i would have skipped the gm stage stuff, gone with HPTuners, 2.5" pulley, adjustable tensioner, 60lb/hr injectors, appropriate spark plugs and start whooping ass.
