yea i have one, it took me maybe 30 minutes to install and i could notice an differnce but nothing crazy, and no its not an underdrive pulley because the way the motor is designed you couldnt fit anything smaller than what comes on it stock, but its an billet alum one that weighs only 1.8lbs i would recomend it if your wanting all the performance out of your car that you can get, but if your wanting bang for buck you might be better off with an ecu tune or intake.

Bro, underdrive pulleys don't make much difference unless you are modded out big time. If you just have an intake and exhaust or something, you will not notice much of a difference. Spend the money on something else. I had AEM underdrive pulleys on my 02' eclipse and made little to no difference.

My understanding is smaller UD pulleys take things away from your heat/ac/etc and put it to the ground, usually you lose efficiency of your heating and AC but gain power. Lighter weight I have no idea what the benefit of that would be.

i agree that it shouldnt be his first mod, but maybe after I/H/E it would be an good mod.

I have heard the same about ud pulleys but if you think about it it doesnt make any sense. If an smaller pulley is on an car that means the pulley is spinning faster and would cause the ac power steering etc to spin ever faster increasing its output? But i dunno

Lighter weight components take less power to spin and therefore free up power. It's all about mass and momentum.

underdrive pullies are usually larger than stock and just allow other items to spin slower. they're really to keep you from spinning accessories faster than needed at high RPM. the suck at idle and for normal use.

a lighter pully is just that. it's lighter and allows you to waste less energy spinning other things. the only possible side effect would be a less than smooth idle, but modern cars are idle controlled so i don't think it would be as issue. really, it's pretty cheap painless power.

so the general agreement is "yes there are pullies and they are a quick bolt on, but only add it to your car once you've bolted on many other things"?

i dunno. i kinda think that it's a better way for "free" power.

intake = expensive and loud and not huge diff.

exhaust = see above

ECU tune = good bang for the buck but kinda kills the car for a week or so.

The intake is an pretty nice differnce though, and as far as being loud i dont quite understand? I have i/h/e and the pulley and when im doing 70 on the highway with the windows up and ac on i cant even hardly hear my exhaust, and i defintly wouldnt consider it loud unless you dont like any noise what so ever.

Pretty much there's def better mods to spend your money on but if your not looking for bang for the buck and just trying to get extra power, i'd say pick one up.
