Well i got my Intense stage 3 on. now read about my ride home

So i got my Hptuners and Intense stage 3 installed and dynoed. I dynoed at 245. It cost me $550. So im on my way home. and all the sudden. BAM!! and my battery light comes on. OHHH HELL. and all the sudden. i start losing power badddddd. well i pull over in a very bad part of town. i had to. I pop the hood. and my supercharger pulley is laying inside somewhere and my belt is off. The Hub is still on the pulley and everything. Its a press on deal right? well so we figure its either chance it home and possibly blow the motor or come back to my car and there not be a motor in it. . well so we drive for like 25 minutes to get it home without a belt. and it never runs hot. whats up with that. all i can say is. boy is our cars slow without that supercharger turning.

So now i cant bring my car out tonight and show off. It sucks but what an experience. anyone had there pulley just pop off?

dude get rid of ur mechanic he is an idiot. The press on pulley does not melt on lmao... infact u put antiseize on when u install to prevent that. Its just a very tight fit that is all. Did the ring just come off? if so just rebolt the ring back on and go ull be fine...if it continues add some lock washer behind it or use lock tight

Wow! I can say I have NEVER seen that happen before. My best guess is that the hub was not pressed on all the way. The end of the hub should be flush with the end of the supercharger spindle. There is no way a hub should come off if installed right.

Yeah, that's the problem. The hub AND pulley should NOT be all there!! Dude, whoever intsalled that hub is real dufus. Get him to press the hub on again using a PROPER tool this time. Good luck!!

The reason you neve overheated is because the waterpump is driven off of the timing chain sprokets and not the serp belt

You will need the proper installation tool, or remove the supercharger and put it in a press.

Yeah without that supercharger, I don't think we are even hitting 100 hp.

I'd say we're prolly around 150+ hp but it's the torque you really use. The bottom ends are built by GM to handle up to 400hp for the tuner market and have low compression pistons and cam specs driven towards supercharging so they're def. pretty lathargic without boost! If you wanna try it just drive your car and watch your boost gauge, make sure you never make a pound and you'll see how well they pull. Another thing weighing against you is if your belt was off then your alternator wasn't charging so i'm sure you ignition system wasn't firing at full potential. As for your pulley, they hub def. has to be pressed flush with shaft. I also thought there was a bolt that screwed in the end to hold it on but I can't remember. But I agree, lose your mechanic! Sounds to me like he "Pressed" your hub on with a rubber mallet! haha lmao Good luck man!

That is weird...esp since you dyno'd and it stayed on the whole time, and yeah the waterpump is like the old 2.4Twincam and Quad4...run off the timing chain...and the powersteering is electric...and the fuel map is controled by the MAF and MAP sensors so basicaly you were running with no alternator and less power...no worries as long at hte battery held up for the drive.
