800+ Hp

I just bought a new 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS/SC that I plan to make into 800+HP. Iwas wondering if anyone had ideas on what I should do to get my car to that level. I like to get input before I start any major projects. Thanks in advance for any and all ideas and feedback

Just add 80 stickas!!! I think my ricer math is right there! LOL

Seriously though...800? Why'd you buy a 4 banger if you wanted that much horse?

If you had the money, it'd be sweet. I'd love to have 200 Horses per cylinder. Major bragging rights right there

Umm, you should start by writing a blank check to gm, and tell them you want one of their cobalt drag cars, that's the only way, seriously...forget about it...never think of it again unless you are so rich you don't know what to do with it all...

Um. Your first bet would be to sell the car and buy something w/ more than FOUR CYLINDERS. Or get an Evo and drop it off and AMS.

I speak from experience, that is going to cost you at least the price of the car to get there. Are really serious because if you are I hope you are a private contractor in Iraq\Afganistan and not just a private in the military.
All joking aside I am on a build that is very similar to what you want and there are some obstacles to deal with after the money is in place.

Rumor has it the clutch won't quite hold 800 hp, start there...

Seriosly, 800 hp in a front wheel drive is pretty much useless. Even people with stock ss/sc's are always complaining about not being able to hook up. Victory_red_SS is being the cobaltss.net pioneer and paving the way for the rest of us, but I still can't figure out how he's going to get the power to the pavement without the car being nothing but a trailer queen.

I am going to get a couple of 400lb women to sit on my reinforced hood. That should hold those wheels down

If your asking you shouldn't even try unless you pay someone to do it for you.

Begin by selling the car back and getting a Z06.... then you'll be on the right road.

Seriously dude... 400hp I can see... with some MAJOR work... that's attainable...

beyond that... rediculous.

You guys do know that you can get a good 1400+ hp out of the ecotec right? GM even made a build book for people with enough money to do it. Give a good shop 5k in labor and give them all the parts and there ya go, 1400hp without breaking a sweat.

So... 5k in labor and... what.... 10k in parts... it won't even be street legal then... and it won't run on anything but race fuel.

And even if this guy is serious about 800hp... he should have gotten the 2.2 instead of the LSJ... that's the engine to build off of.

this outlines the steps for that 1400 hp build and from a build to each of these hp levels 250, 400, 600, and 1000 hp, its pretty much the coolest book ever written

I'm aware that the fast and the furious is fictional. But, I follow the golden rule that anything is possible if you have the will and the cash. I already researched it and found some definite possibilities. I just like other opinions. If I wanted more cylinders, I would have bought a different car. I liked to stay in touch with you victory because you seem to be on the same road as me. BTW, I am a private in the military but I have additional outside funding.
