heres a start, redo all the intetrnals, way better clutch, twin charge with a bigger s/c than stock, everybolt on, hp tuners, every mod to get the power to the ground, whole new suspension, since going 4 times the hp, atleast 4 times more stopping power, reinforce everything b/c u may end up dying very fast in a 800 hp fwd car. fattttttty ass drag radials, so u can attempt to hook up. win the lottery, find a good mechanic that specializes in preformance. suck everyone in gm's preformance division off and hope for the best

that might get u to ... 400ish hp if u are lucky but prolly not. seeing as twincharge is only at 330.

so from there, add a 2 stage nitrous kit worth 400 hp :P

Thanks for all the input everyone. I looked at the guide book and started ordering the parts. Now, I just need to find out the legal hp in Texas and Florida and I'll be all set. While I'm in Iraq, I'll have all the parts order and sent to my house. My friend and the shop will put some of it on and the engine will get some of it's mods. When I get back, I'll finish all the mods. I'll mod it to the highest legal limit I can. A buddy of mine told me that 1000hp was the limit in Texas but I'll research that for myself. Hopefully I see you on the road and stay in touch everyone.

I liked to stay in touch with you victory because you seem to be on the same road as me. BTW, I am a private in the military but I have additional outside funding.

Yeah I bet you do...Seeing privates don't make crap...and is the additional funding drug money..you might try and get a sponsor...and who the hell would want a 800 hp car with todays gas prices anways...have to fill it up every half mile or LESS...

I don't think there's a legal limit on hp in a street car but to get that much power the car would have some parts that aren't street legal.

Or see if you can do an LS7 swap like Mallet did with the solstice. And then see if you can take it to Lingenfelter and have them Twin Turbo it.. 800hp there

Hitman, it is entirely possible to build an 800hp ecotec, however it would not be streetable mainly becuase you'll only have two speeds, fast and broken. an engine running with that sort of power needs to much maintnence. i would recomend aiming for a lower powered car, set 400 as a goal and you'll still have the most bad*ss fwd car around, and it will be much more reliable.
does anyone remember the rally car ford built about 15 years ago? it was a 2.0 litre car that was capable of producing over 1000 hp, the problem was they needed to replace the engine after every 8 hours of running it, it was a 100,000 dollar engine and by the end of the run it would be a melted heap of junk. but it was ranked as one of the most outstanding cars ever built! the point is it would be awesome and i think everyone here would eat their words if you built an 800hp car, except it isn't really practical.

twincharge has done very little to the internals of his engine according to his signature. (I tried to PM him but he won't respond) and I would not take his setup as an example of what can be done. I on the other hand will have an engine designed to have much higher boost so before long we will see the possibilities of twincharging on an engine that was built specifically for this purpose.
Remember GM builds these engines with even more hp than just 800. It can be done it will just cost goobs of money and many other parts will need to be changed to handle the power. Look at Gradella's Cobalt. Do you think that is N\A???

I new this was coming sooner or later Watch something besides the Daily Show and you might learn something.

As far as the parts in the GM engine build book, you can't just "order" alot of the parts, they have to be fabricated. That's where alot of the $$$ goes into the build. Sure GM has gotten 1400 hp out of it, but alot of those parts aren't just sitting on a shelf waiting for someone to buy.

Wow, umm that was nowhere near what I was talking about, he's my commander and chief so like the war or not I have to give respect, i was merely mentioning that he won't have enough to get 800hp AND the supporting mods, but with 25 g's that alot of work he could do if he wanted to...especially if it was all engine, transmission, and suspension work...hmm, guess i signed up to get shot at too then huh? Dissing someones choices in life is not cool...I'm the one protecting your rights to say anything you want and you use them in a negative way...not cool...

I have closed this thread for several reasons...

1. It is a collection of pure ignorance and misinformation
2. It is not a serious inquiry
3. It is going to become a problem thread very quickly.

People, come on, don't be so gullable.
