What problem were you having with the secret weapon filter?

it came with a little crease there and it fit perfectly around the hanger so i figured it was bent on purpose b/c there was no stress marks from plastic bending, so i let it go, then a few months ago it kept falling off and that crease got bigger b/c i had to over toighen it to hold it down and it was too late to report to weaponR that it was a defect so instead they gave me some money off which i put towards a Cel eliminator.. and bought the dragon filter... i love it

i love it and its cheap too. but there is welding involved... get a new cat with it... and honestly just have a shop put it on (comming from a guy who does his own work and hates shops) and deffinalty dont get the black one, the paint will flake off

I might pick one up later this year, but shop work sounds expensive

I thought about just removing my cat altogether and putting in an O2 Simulator

I heard the header makes the exhaust sound a bit ricey

Don't remove the cat...you don't like a "ricey" sound now? It will sound even worse with no cat.

I'm trying to go the cheap route, straight pipe > new cat in terms of price

If i have a garage do it, its going to be expensive

Dude...a new cat is like $120...

Take it from someone who's been there and done that, if you're not going to do it right the first time, don't do it at all. Whos to say you go with a straight pipe and hate the way it sounds? You could have waited $120 down the road and not have to repeat exhaust work.

Seriously, just save $120.

if the cat wasnt such a fked up designe on the stocker id just say have em move it but itll cost some $$.... to have the header and sht put on itll be cheap... just go to like midas or something hell i went to mineke and it was fine, done in about 2 hours... header cat, new piping and muffler and it wasnt too expensive, i/d remember how much... do this i went about it this way, buy a muffler or the cat or header, and slowly buy the rest, then save up and just drop it off at the shop for a say, dont let anyone slam you on where you get it installed, so what if they crush bend, its cheaper and it rlly dosent kill any Hp on our cars... we have a simple exhaust system

Actually Crush bends are a bad idea.

Killing HP has everything to do with the type of bend...well...the type of bend you get can mess up your HP because of exhaust flow.

Crush Bends cause the piping to be indented and basically change the diameter of the piping, decreasing exhaust flow (basically making a restriction). Look at this picture

See how the bends are all jacked up looking. So say if you have a 2 1/2" piping...at the bend they crush the pipe in and decrease the piping size to 2 1/4" exhaust flow.

you can install the Pacesetter by yourself, just make sure you have something to cut the stock downpipe with right above the cat.

don't try to install it with the downpipe still in there, you will have the time of your life trying to get it in and its not worth the hassle.

just grab a sawzal or dremel, cut that bitch about 1" above the stock cat, break the clip holding the 02 sensor so that you can extend the wiring, install the header and roll to an exhaust shop to get the header welded to the exhaust.

as far as sound goes, I'm not a fan...it didn't give a ricey sound but it does give this funky ass sound like theres little particles bouncing around inside the piping. its because the piping is thin though unlike the OEM manifold.

Whats the best way to access the stock exhaust manifold, should i jack the car way up, or try to access it from the engine bay

u can get it from the top of the car, u just have to feel for some of the bolts...

the downpipe bolts u need to get from underneath the car but since you'll be cutting that section out anyway it wont matter.

:edit:
oh and just a thought, since you'll be pulling the downpipe out at the same time as the manifold might have to pull it out from the bottom, u can still loosen all the bolts from the top though.
