Ontario Tuning

Hey Guys, hoping you can help me out. With the upgrade to the 2.8 as well as some concerns with stage 2 i think some tuning is needed. The question is where?

I have contacted everything I could find in Kingston with the same answer that no one has a dyno and does tuning in the city. I will be in the GTA and london/Windsor Area for the next month. So if anyone is these areas knows of a great place to get my baby dynoed and tuned it would be greatly appreciated. As well at the end of the month I will be back in kingston so you Ottawa guys please chime in as well. Thanx in advance.

I'm actually working on this right now, but it's no easy task.
not alot of shops actually carry and use the HP Tuners Software.
most want you do buy the software, and they'll dyno tune it for you.

See thats what I am trying to get out of this thread. Doesn't nessacary have to be a shop that has tuned a LSJ before (preferable) but just a place that does good work and don't try to rip ya off. Hopefully more ppl chime in but nice work Playa.

I have HPtuners but I am waiting to get Stage II from the dealer and my 2.8 pulley before I start tuning. BTW, stay away from Autoworks, they have a seriously bad history as 'agostino racing engines'. Same doods.

I kinda like four star and DL I've red some good things on other forums (mostly import cars) about them.

hey umbrae would you consider lending your program for our tunes, we could all pitch in a hundred bucks for our credits, so you don't use up yours?
this way all we have to do is find a really good shop to dyno tune our cars.

I can't remember but Sean was telling me of a good one too, maybe he can post the name when he reads this thread

It's Steve right? We met at Cayuga that Sunday. I have a 2006 Arrival Blue SS/SC. You didn't run that day because your clutch was slipping something firece. Anyway, I'm going to Tag Racecraft this Thursday to dyno the car. I'm going to to dyno with the 2.85 and then swap to the 2.70 to see the difference in power. I'm also going to insist he measures AFR with both dyno's. If you're interested in joining me, and the inviation is open to all, flip me a PM and I'll give you my contact info. The guys at Tag are pretty cool - Mike, I think this is who you're thinking of. Talk to me

Hmmm Possible mini-meet again somewhere sometime? Hopefully in under a week since the wifey is coming back from overseas and I'll be tied down for a few weeks getting her **** together when she comes back.

BTW, neone know where I can score a Walbro FP for cheap?

It's Pete, but its coo. The clutch is doin better since the master cylinder was replaced shortly after cayuga but still slipping a bit from 2nd to 3rd. I would like to come down but I have to work Friday and Im driving down to st catherines this weekend so that would just be too many kms on the thousands I have already put on this month, but thanx alot for the invite. Hopefully we can all meet again some time in july.

Have you guys talked to Paul @ NHR Motorsports aka Neetronics? Paul is an excellent tuner and can tune almost anything down to a ride-along lawn mower. They recently purchased the tuner software for the Cobb AP for the Scoobies. So they work with many different cars and tuner programs. I'm sure Paul can take a look at the HP Tuners software and know what to do. Its doubtful that he'll actually pick the up lic. and programs unless there are a TON of ppl that are interested and is a market for the software. However, you can possibly get him to tune a few cars here and there.

neetronics that's the name I couldn't remember, Sean said he's really good as well, and probably around 300 for a tune as well if we brought the program for him to tune with.

hey P7X, I'm not to confident with split fire, my first impression wasn't all that great, that's why I was going to talk to him a bit more once he gets some time with the program.

he just didn't come off as the most experienced tuner

I wasnt exactly confident in him either talking on the phone, he doesnt have the program and like I mentioned before it would be great to find a shop that does great work and knows exactly what they're doing with tuning and the program. I'll keep looking and hopefully others will as well and we'll find a good shop that can unleash our cars

If we had enough people that could chip in to buy a license for all 05/06 Cobalt SS's i'd be in for sure. That way, we could have a dyno day and use my HPtuners for your tunes with an unlimited amount of cars as a possibility.

I guess its just up to you guys to find a good reputable tuner who is familiar with HPtuners?

awsome thanks for helping us out umbrae
question?
do you want to be able to tune all 05/06 cobalts, because thenyou would only need another 4 credits, provided you didn't use 2 for your car yet, another 4 creds would only cost us $200. we could easily pay for that.

I have a couple of more people to here back from, then I'll post my top two options, and you guy's can decide, or if you find anyone you guy's should post here too.
