Aftermarket G85.

Well, two days ago I called a company here who installs OEM parts for Chevrolet. I asked them what was the price for the G85 package if I decided to get it after I got the car. He called me back today, and just as I suspected.... It's well worth the $1500 to have them add this on to the SS/SC straight out of the factory.

Front Driver's Recaro Seat: $1,145.00
Front Passenger Recaro: $1,050.00
Quaife LSD: $1,500.00

Then, on top of that, whoever installs the LSD will have to change out front drive shafts, rewire a few bits, and reprogram the CPU after the LSD is installed. I'm not very happy about this, because now there's the hold on the G85 package. I might as well just do without it and say screw it.

There are much better looking racing seats that you can get for equal price or less. You pay the preminum becuase it is a OEM seat on several cars. Euro focus has them, MKIV Jetta Gli has them, GTi 20th anniversy has them....

Oh and keep in mind that you can get the LSD a little cheaper than MSRP....

Someone on the Red Line forums bought a LSD and had it installed in his Red Line and he said the total with installation and all the little extras was about $2500.

Well whether you like LSD and Recaros or not.. you can't argue that it's not a good deal economically. There's no way you could buy 2 equal or better quality racing seats AND an LSD AND have them installed for $1500. Unless of course, you did all the work yourself and had some connections for really cheap parts.

Safe to say, the common SS driver couldn't do it for that price no way, no how.

I ment in my post that u can easild get better recaros according to market price. You would be a idiot if getting a aftermarkey G85 kit will save you money. You'll be better off paying the extraa 10~50 bucks a month for it...

The G85 package is 'supposed' to be in Canada for 2006. I haven't seen anything that says it is a guaranteed thing. I would be pretty pissed if I waited for a 2006 only to find out the G85 wasn't available.

GM can't even get their **** together when it comes to the sales brochures. It still says you get heated seats - for Canada anyway. One could argue that the price for the SS includes the heated seats and that you shouldn't have to pay extra for them.
