so i was out at the track this past sat. for steel valley nationals at quaker...and my last race of the day was a mustang gt (it said gt 4.6L on the side badges) and i beat him really bad and i know that can't be right so check out his times and let me know if he missed a shift or something?? i wasn't paying any attention to what his car was doing so i don't know if he missed a shift or bogged or spun...but let me know what you think...thanks!

I woop on Mustangs all the time. Nice kill. His times seem weird though. He either couldn't drive or it's a V6 with 4.6 GT badges.

well, if it was a 96-98, bone stock, or maybe a few small mods like mufflers, shifter etc.; nothing too in depth. Then its totally plausible that he ran that time w/o missing a shift.

The 96-98s were weak. Some dyno'd under 200rwhp stock. Now, even a 15.6 seems a little slow for a stock 96-98, but if the driver was mediocre, then its very possible. I know a guy who just ran a 14.9 in his 97 with just weld-in Flows and a shifter, his first time at the track too. All his runs before that were 15.0-15.3 though. But his car is a vert, so its heavier. A coupe should run better than 15.6.

Now, if it was a 99-04, then yeah, the driver missed a shift of sucked donkey *****.

it was a SN 95 gen I no doubt .. 96-98 gt, the numbers are a little low for a 5-speed so i will assume it was an auto, those years only showed 215 hp stock so rwhp is closer to 170-180ish and the Autos are dogs.. the only thing that catches my eye really badly though which is making me lean toward it being a v6 with GT badges is the trap speed.. 88mph is extremely low so either the car was ragged to hell and he doesnt know how to drive.. or it was just a v6

Back a few years I had a '94 Trans Am with an LT1 in it. A Co-worker had one of those 4.6 GT's a '95 I think with an auto. The thing was a Turd. I used to kill it without breaking a sweat.

Those times are quite plausible on an auto from that model run. They smell of poo.

It was a sn95 4.6 gt.At best with a 5 speed they are low 15s cars,auto's run mid 15s.I had a 98 gt and boy,it was weak.No doubt a SS/SC would smoke one.And as far as a v6 with gt emblems,sn95 v6's had 150hp[110-115 at the wheels]and run 18s stock,so if it was a v6 it had alot of work done to it.

That looks like a really bad 60' time for RWD. I wonder if that had something to do with it.

with that trap speed either it wasnt a gt or he missed a gear...let off something. the 94 gt's were very slow in stock form but not that slow. 96 to 98 gt's will hit 14 easy, and 99 to 04 can hit a very high 13 if driven like you stole it.
