I can just imagine him at the track staging next to a 5.0, guy in the 5.0 thinks to himself "haha a neon! Easy run." Then the shock on his face when he realizes he got owned by "JUST ANOTHER NEON"

Now there are severeal more 11 second SRt-4's.

Hopefully when our racing season begins we will set out to do a 11.4 or so @ 125mph. unless we get more power out of the stock longblock.

Man i remember bein on SRT forums so long ago, right before and after the launch of the SRT-4 (yup i wanted one long ago). I remember when the first parts were coming out for it, hopefully we will have the same experience with our cobalts :)

we were the 1st to the 11's, many many months ago(I think it was March) the BIG ? is whos gonna be first to the 10's and 9's?

both benchmarks which will fall very soon, a 10 is just around the corner on the very same car in this thread :D

Our goal is to have our drag radial(street tire) car at low 11's(mid summer on a much smaller turbo it was running 11.8's) high 10's consistent and our Sport FWD drag car low 9's to high 8's.

LOL...but who will run 10's on a stock tranny!...lol

we are just trying to go after our own goals and not national claims of speed :)

hope you guys do break the 8's with the race car!

I got one for you - Myopic

2: lacking foresight or scope; "a short view of the problem";
"shortsighted policies"; "shortsighted critics derided the
plan"; "myopic thinking"

Ecotecs have already proven themselves in competiton. The Kindles are showing you the way, so instead of bashing another proven product in the SRT-4, why not get your Cobalt to stop running 16 second in the 1/4 mile and then you'll have something to talk trash about.

C'mon man, that wasn't that bad. There's an SRT-4 owner that posts here and calls his OWN CAR a Neon On Crack. I don't consider that condecending--I actually think it's funny, not a bad thing.

Yes you will; GM produces and/or tests just about anything you can ask for and this weekend you will have an exact list along with specifications for everything to make your car run as fast as you want it to. Out of this book, you honestly can take YOUR Cobalt and take it from running 17 seconds at 80+mph to running 7 seconds at over 200mph. Yes, you heard me 200 mph, this past weekend, Marty Ladwig ran his Cobalt at 202 mph. Now obviously that is very intensive, but 11 or 12 second Cobalts are very possible to be the norm.

I'm hoping to have both my '99 Neon R/T and the SRT-4 into 10's by winter of 2006/07.

Will the DIS-2 work on the Cobalt? I have one I took off my SRT-4 (Replaced it with the DIS-2 Programmable).
