They wouldnt do a Corvette SS. They already have a z06 coming and having an SS Corvette just seems stupid.. If anything..a new Camaro SS would me much needed.

cars like the camaro ran chevy into the ground when it comes down to it... its not a mass market car, you cant sell "special cars" in that price range anymore

I'm not quite sure what your talking about.. it would be comparable to the Mustang GT/Cobra... and we all know that ford is making a fortune on that car. I think the 'midsized' mucsle car will come back

A Trailblazer running 14.0 flat? I'll believe it if it's a SC'd V8.

The Trailblazer SS has the LS2 V8 from the Corvette/GTO. About 400HP/400ft/lbs of torque - a 14 second 1/4 mile pass is easily attainable, so you better believe it

Not on an SUV that big. Unless they're changing the entire Trailblazer for 2006... I still don't think it'll be possible in such a heavy vehicle. Mid-high 14's would be more believable.

Geez, the Malibu SS times are garbage. 15.5 for a 240hp-240tq car weighing less than 3300lbs?

Your looking at it wrong.... I will bet a whole lto of money that ford has not sold nearly as monay mustangs as other companies have smaller cars...

The market is leaning that way... either its an affordable small car, an SUV, or a specialty car, IMO the camaro cannot compete with other specialty cars

no it runs 14...it says it in the july issue of motor trend. it has the stats of the SS models. and look at the grand charokee SRT8..that has a few more ponies then the trailblazer SS and runs alittle faster, so the time on the SS is believeable.....

A good driver in an SS Trailblazer can probably beat many of us in our Cobalt SSs! There's a race for ya.. a sport compact is beat by a big SUV!

Basically any driver who floors the acclerator then. Takes about zero skill to get the best times from an automatic. Sure be a good race with the Cobalt S/C SS though.....that driver better be good other wise he'll lose!

Easily a low 14 sec the Trailblazer SS is. The Silverado SS (AWD, ext cab) with only 345 hp can pull a high 14.

" 2006 malibu SS=$24,000. 0-60mph-7.8sec (est) 1/4 mile-15.5-16.0"

don't buy that for a second. The 3500 Malibu runs in that time frame.

You're right. I wasn't thinking. Anybody with a working right foot can get good times with an automatic! The good driver needs to be in the Cobalt SS!

I bet it would be a pretty close race, but the Trail Blazer would probably come out on top amazingly. I can't get over the fact that a stock SUV is that fast.
Although what do you expect when you have a 6.0L engine..

I agree , I got my wife an 05 Malibu LT V6 and that is about what it runs. Maybe someone just looked at the wrong numbers. I was very impressed with the 3500 V6.

I will tell you its going to be way more than 24,00. My 05 Lt V6 with every thing you can get on it was an MSRP of about 27,500, and I dont think they are lowering the prices. I would bet it would be around 28 easy.
