Intercooler plumbing diagram

does any one know the supercharger/ intercooler routing diagram?
i was checking it out today and dont specifically see the intake routing to the IC

does it just route coolant through the charger jacket, W/o the air entering the IC

The water from the heat exchanger goes directly into the intake manifold from there the intercooler cores chill the intake charge and return the water back out into the external heat exchanger. There is really not routing of air like you would see on an turbo or a vortec type supercharger.

The link jonelz posted about th 5 post down gives you a blow up view.

oic...it is an aftercooler
yeah...it didnt look at all like the plumbing involved the air intake

but now i notice the intake mainfold has the lines running through the side and out the bottom
well said..but does eliminate the possibility of using a ntercooler sprayer like i had thought
it also makes the charge temp alot higher since it runs coolant through the intake manifold

at least GM stopped using plastic manifolds for the plenums... too many times ive had to do intake manifolds on 3.4, 3.8 buicks and the like

from what i understand, the laminova air-to-water intercooler is more efficient than an air-to-air intercooler, and the intake temps are pretty low considering the blower sitting right on top of the intake manifold producing the heat that it does

true but an air to water IC ususally has air flowing throught the cores with a water jacket around the cores in the IC like a radiator
imagine the low temps that system would have with its own stand alone coolant supply with the fluid never touching the motor itself...

but yes the blower is going to add a lot of heat directly over the intake manifold...can u say heak soak

good thing it has some form of stock IC system...pretty advanced too if ya ask me

the stock aftercooler setup doesnt offer much in the way of potential for tuning, about 235-250hp is max....the Laminova setup Vita mentioned is a marked improvement over the stock one but still is only good for about 275hp...and it requires ditching your a/c....it is an excellent way to make your stock or slightly modded LSJ be happy for a LONG time.

GM removed the A/C system and put on a bigger intercooler radiator on the Grand AM cobalt ss/sc.
