Recaro driver seat making a clunk noise.....

I hope this is not to trivial a matter to start a new thread - I am new here and this is my first post. I was hoping not to have to start a new thread, ESPECIALLY in this section but here it is

My Cobalt has the Recaro package with the limited slip differential(which, btw, I have a feeling is not really functional). Anyway, every so ofter when I sit in the drivers side front seat there is a click/clunk noise from the seat back (mid way up). It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the recline mechanism so I am not to concerned ... yet. However, I was wondering if others have heard it. If so, I will just write it off as a design flaw.

Thanks!

Hmm... Id have the dealer check it out if it doesn't go away on its own. My recaro has never made a clunking noise before.

Thanks..

Guess it migt be a design thing. I only have the noise on the driver side - but it only happened after about 10 hours of sitting (most of which time the pass. seat was empty - no g/f to badger me - just the way I like it!)

Glad to see I'm not the only one with that noise. In fact I went to the dealership today and got into the floor S/C that had the Recaro seat. After a few minutes of wriggling - I got the showroom S/C to make a similar noise....

Stupid really. Recaro gets a big contract to makeseats for GM. You'd think they know and fix any rattles/clicks/clunks etc even if it didn't affect the seats functionality...

Oh well.

Thanks again for the replies guys. Much appreciated!

the front of the seat tracks that attach to the floor , are not bolted down , they slip into 2 slits in the floor on each rail

all the cobalt and ion seats are that way , and im guessing everyone has or will have that issue
