Clutch brake in ?......HELP.

Ok I got my car with 68miles on it.
Is it posable that the dealer drove the car to hard in that 68 miles and messed the clutch up?

They told me that no one had test driven the car and that they had all the sales men drive it to see what it was so they could sell it.

Do you think thye could have done something to the clutch in that time that would have made it slipp later on?

Thanks later.

No one can say yes or no. Only the people that drove it know. I know people who got theirs with ~130 miles on it and had no problems. Mine had 60 miles on it and had no problem.

To answer your question, yes. They could have drove it like an ass and constantly rub it. They also could have driven it perfectly fine, maybe even better than you and did absolutely no harm to it. Is your clutch slipping now or are you worried about it in the future?

If it is slipping now then you should definately go back and tell them to fix it. It should not be slipping that early.

My car has 6,987miles on it and it has been slipping for the last 1,800 miles or so and its get wores with every mile.

I dont beat on it but I do drive it a bit hard from time to time. At least I used to. If I do that now I can kiss my clutch good buy in a day. I drive like grandma right now.

Im just **** and looking for some anssers on the problem.

But the dealer is giving me the shaft! A big one and from behind at that!

I have taken the car to 3 dealers with no luck in geting it fixed.

I know how it is drivng like a Grandma due to a clutch. I nuked mine at the track. If I were you, this would be a good time to upgrade to a stronger clutch. Unless you plan on keeping the car stock forever.

I dont^

But at only 7 moths old a clutch was not in my plains and so I have not set cash aside for it.

From what I have been able to find the clutch is going to cost me about 600-700 + about 350 for a new flywheel. + 100 for the slave cylinder, + about 450 to have it installed.

Thats about 1500-1600. And thats more then I want to spend right now.

I know I could do it my self but I dont have the time. And I know I dont need a flywheel but if Im going to take it all apart Im going to do it one time and thats it.

I still dont know waht Im going ot do.

I want my car to drive right agen. And this is pissing me off.

I had 8 miles on my car when I got it, and it did the same clutch slipping bs.

I noticed, however, that after a few good long slips that left the inside of the car smelling like clutch lining, it would grab very well after.

I wonder if the clutch is getting a glazed coating on it from daily driving, and when you bang it into 2nd gear and it slips, it's just burning this coating off, that's why it grabs after.

I am with you on the flywheel. If I am going to take the tranny out myself for the clutch install, the flywheel is going in at the same time cause I dont want to do it again.

The CM stage4 clutch + flywheel combo is 1200 alone.

Im Thinking of going with the FX300. I want something that I can drive every day that feals close to a stock clutch. I think that the FX400 is to much race for every day.

I dont know Im going to make some calls on monday and see what some of the venders that sell it say.
