New tranny at 2000kms!!

Thats right! I work at a chevy dealership in Northern Ontario, Canada. A completely stock 2006 2.4 SS 5 speed was sitting on our lot for a couple of months but had less than 200kms on the odometer. Well it was finally sold to a young, 19 year old male about 2 weeks ago. I saw this car driving around a few times during those two weeks and noticed the guy was really pushing his car, the whole time knowing that it was not even mildly borken in. So then, last week, It was coffee break time at work (I work in the parts department) and one of the techs drives in that cobalt to his bay. Cool, I thought, getting an oil change. WRONG! The customer complained of difficulty shifting into reverse and 4th gears. The linkage was all inspected and the car was taken for a road test. Still had trouble shifting into those gears. So the tech is then given permission from the customer and the service advisor to drop the tranny and inspect the syncros. Well soon after the tranny was dropped, it was CLEARLY obvious the car had been abused. I am not sure exactly what parts needed to be replaced however it would have ran the customer approx $1500 in parts + labour of about 8-10 hours! The front tires were inspected and showed obvious signs of abuse and already had abuot 50% tread life left! So long story short, a brand new 2006 cobalt SS 5 speed was beat to crap and needs an entire new tranny BEFORE it's first oil change!

Sorry for the rant but it really grinds my gears when a kid like that would treat a brand new $20k vehicle with such disrespect.

I am 16 years old and working my ass of to be able to afford a car soon enough, and i see a 19 year old who most likely had his parents pay for it, treat it like CRAP!

BTW it was his first standard car which might explain alot aswell.

sorry for the rant, but I am fuming right now!

that pisses me off. why would you do that to a brand new car? im also only 18 and i have more brains to no not to beat the **** out of a car when its brand new. watch him try to turn around and say what a pos car it is and how many proplems it has and how much he babyed the car and it still broke if he sells it and gets a import.
