AWD makes a huge difference, plus chevy didn't make the cobalts with the intent of making them 900 hp cars, not to mention these cars are very new, and turbo cars are much easier to tune and get bigger numbers from just tuning it.

i will agree, chevy made this car to be an econobox little tuner to be quick, mitsubishi wanted to compete with the STi, the cars are in a totally diff category....

the ss/sc was made with the intent to rape stock cars in the same class. evo's and sti's are not the same class. especially modded mitsu's and scooby's

What's the point of this thread? You are stating the obvious. First off the Evo is tried and true as far as tuners are concerned. It's engine been around for 15 years now. The 4g63 is very tuner friendly. Also the Evo MR cost some 13k dollars more so that car better be better. AWD also helps keep those 60' times low where as FWD is pretty bad for the launch.

I wonder if Evo guys post threads like this on their site? Only on their site they are saying "Evo far from Corvette Z06".

I'm not being a dick or smart alikey but this just seems so obvious to me it's rediculous and I wonder if it's just an attempt by another cobalt owner to bail out and bash the car on their way out.

Yes, that is true, but how many people mod the **** out of their EVo and want to race a Cobalt....and stock for sock they don't completely obliterate us, I mean they do win but not by an impossible amount.

Plus I have my Mustang for the EVO's....so I have best of both the economical and speed world.

That can be said for just about any car though. Stock vs Stock with good drivers the Evo will pull from a roll, not by much, on a SS/SC. I'm not hating on the ss/sc or nothing, cause i write a check for one every month, but we're just outgunned by the Evo. Our interior is a hell of a lot nicer though.

It's as simple as this.

New Evo: $28,000 if you're lucky.
New ss/sc Stage 2: $21,000

I have stage 2 and I have beat 2 stock evos from a roll by about a car length.
From a roll that AWD kills them. Too many moving parts.

So I guess i'm saying we are a good match. And we are cheaper.

hahahahaha, I don't exactly know why but I find that hilarious, truly points out the meaninglessness of this thread.

on second thought....
u drive a base model. why are you talking right now? 2.2l talking **** about cobalts and saying "us cobalts"

and yes, an evo is faster. duh

just wait til i have 988whp in my cobalt :P ... a very 'common' number for your average tuner car.

has no one heard of the 1400hp ecotec turbo drag car? I say it has about the same amount of work done to it as that evo had. 988hp that car engine had to have been completely rebuilt plus i would like to see the torque curve. Not saying that evo is slow just saying it probably has very peaky hp b/c the torque is only 2/3 the hp.

you can get your hands on an RS for 25 if you can catch one on a dealers lot. but they order them most times with the sun n sound package to add the stereo back into it cause people cant live without it. other than that theyre hard to sell for that reason. but thats also why i liked the Scion tC spec. stripped out the same way and cheaper. or a spec miata. dont hvae the time n money for that now tho.... damn wedding

Besides when you compare a cars at its max like the ams evo. just think who is the fastest sport compact car in the world and you will not see a mitsubishi logo.

ok I didn't even read all the posts so I don't know if anyone has said this yet. This is an ignorant thread. No **** our cars are far from the EVO MR. The EVO MR costs 38k out the door. I know this because a buddy of mine has one. So I would hope to god that a car that is very close to being double the cost of my car has more speed and better quality. People please stop comparing our cars to cars that are far and away out of our class. You do the math my car costs 20k the EVO MR costs 38k.........
