Anti-sway bar comparison/poll
Anti-sway bar comparison/poll
I'm looking at getting a rear anti-sway bar for my 06 SS2.4 and was wondering if it would be a better choice to go with the eibach one or the progress one.
I looked and haven't found any information as to the size of the eibach bar. The progress one is 22mm. If anyone has any thoughts that would be great.
The eibach "kit" which I'm not sure if it is just the rear sway bar or not, is $329.00, where the progress rear sway bar I've found for $159.00 at:

Not sure if it is better to trust the progress name as much as the Eibach. I've had progress springs on my galant previously and had no problems.

i have a progress bar and it's outstanding. i'm pretty sure the eibach is front and back but you dont really need the front.... at least in my opinion. the progress bar really keeps the ass in check and is an easy install, i mean i'm 5'9" 175 and i didn't even jack up the car to put it on. just got under there and put the 4 bolts in.
Cool. I was going to get the DC Sports STB as well when I order this. I didn't think I needed a front sway bar. I actually unhooked the one on my Galant for autox's and it seemed to handle better.
Eibach has nothing out. The only horse in the race is Progress. Its 22mm. If you have a 2.4 ss I'd recommend upgrading to a SS/SC front sway 24 mm as well through GM Parts Direct for like $40 bucks not including mounting brackets and bushings. McPherson struts don't like to be compressed and the larger front sway will keep the the camber curve from degrading by not allowing so much wieght transfer to the outside front corner.
I would disagree with Eibach having nothing out, at least based on my research. On the Eibach website if you look at the application link, under 2006 Cobalt there are 3 part numbers One for the pro-kit 3899.140, one for the anti-roll kit 3899.320, and one for the sportline springs 4.9938.
Thanks GTP for the info on the larger front sway bar. I am really looking to do this with as little effect on wear characteristics as possible. I figured a lesser drop wouldn't kill the geometry too much on the suspension.
I will definitely look into the prices and numbers for the ss/sc front sway bar.

Ho hum....well you CAN disregard what I say...sure.. but try this, call them up and ask to purchase the bars and see what happens...
BTW you were asking about sway bars, I didn't see anyting about spring purchases.
HAHA
I trust you. My information was based solely on internet research. Therefore I'm not 100% sure of it. Springs were just me putting in more information than needed. Sorry for that. I just was hoping to cause less confusion. In either case I couldn't imagine spending 400 dollars on a swaybar for the front and back if I can do the rear for 160 and the front for 40 plus some.
Once again thanks for the info and the help
