Yeah, I've scanned a few Mustang forums before and their reading on the dickit-o-meter is off the the chart. What I don't understand is how anyone with a sub 300 ci N/A, sub 300 hp motor is talking any smack. You never hear Ford guys talking about performance per liter because they suck at it, like fat kids suck at dodge ball. Having said that, I like Ford, and I like Mustangs and they are pretty quick, but they aren't the Godmobile Mustang owners make them out to be.
I have owned several stangs in the past... 90gt, 98gt, 88lx5.0, they were ok but hit the 50k mark and they fall apart like you wouldn't believe....clutch, all kinds of elec gremlins, A/C craps out. typical ford (fixed or repaired daily). Yes they were quick but these cobalts are just as quick especially with a good driver. learning to launch the bolt is interesting but once I have it down there will definatly be a few embarrased stang drivers on my kill list. Most stang drivers have the whole V8 issue going on....Just can't wait to see the faces.....hey stang boy just got beat by a 4 banger and I maintained 20+ MPG!!!! Loving my bolt!!!! sorry for the rant line.....
I didn't click the link but I assume that was one of the 1,000,001 threads I chimed in on over at MustangForums.
I have had F-Body LS1's, LT1's and a few Mustangs so I know what each car is capable of. Since 1993 the Mustang hasn't been anything other than slight competition for GM with the exception of the 2003-2004 Cobra of course.
But anyway now that a GM 4cyl is competion for there low output GT's they cannot stand it. I know it's just the internet but I still can only handle so much bullshit from Mustang guys, there almost worse than Neon drivers.
All of this talk about the 99-04 GT being a 14.0-14.2 car is absolutly hilarious, I stomped them in my LT1's and got stomped by LT1's in my own 2003 GT.
GT owners seem to forget the middle ground between GT and Cobra called the mach1, but then again they claim it equals LS1's which I have proven wrong several times.
There too ignorant to even realize that 205HP @ 5600 for the SS/SC is under-rated but then again maybe there just used to seeing low rpm HP peaks.

Too funny. I have wooped on so many Mustangs it's rediculous. When they are highly moded, just like anything else, it's a different story. But a stage 2 Cobalt will beat up a stock mustang gt wich are about the same price. Simple as that!
