OK so i phoned GM Canada telling them about my service work that my dealer did before about my front alignment, I had it done twice, once when i first got the car at about 2000kms . I had some warrenty work done since then and another alignment, when I switched back to my summer tires, it was still pulling to the left, so after i have gotten the car back about a week later it was yep you guessed it, still pulling to the left.
So i have told GM in oshawa ONT that i was fed up with GM and their service and I didn't want the car anymore and hoping for some miracle that they would take the car back, no such luck.
So they Phoned my dealer about my car and the problems I have, and I have talked to the service manager and I now have another app. for Fri (tomorrow) with one of the floor managers to take a test drive with me to prove to them that their service sucks and I need another WHEEL ALIGNMENT!! ARGH what is with GM and their somewhat mechanics??? ( sorry to those mech. that are actually good I know there are some out there somewhere, and I wish THEY could work on my P.O.S.) As you might know I am that fed up with it I am selling the car, or maybe in the fall I will trade it in and loose my shirt in the process but at least the car will be gone.

sorry for the rant but just had to tell fellow cobalt owners what a great car I have.

 

It's pretty hard to screw up an alignment- let alone TWICE!
Assuming nothing's bent (from a curb ding or something) if it does have a noticable left pull even on a properly crowned roadway it's likely tire pull.

I would first swap the front tires from side to side and see if the pull swaps over or changes

hmm, i wonder if they did a 2 wheel allignment and not a 4 wheel ???

 

I have never hit a curb and i pay attention to pot holes, and I'm pretty sure that my tires do not have uneven wear. and I'm sure that they did a 4 wheel alignment. I didn't check the work orders yet but i will before I go down there tomorrow.

 

I know the stock Perelli's are notorious for following every groove in the road, but I also remember last year a lot of people where having this problem when the cobalt first came out.

Ok so I went to GM, and the forman and Myself went for a drive, surprise it was pulling to the left on a flat road. So we get back to the dealer and book an app. for next fri aug 4,
he said we will start with a tire rotation of the front and go from there, if it needs an alignment then we'll do that to, (price $110),
so I said i'm not paying for it, I had it twice before for this and it's still doing it,
then she said well I'll charge you for the last one you did cause you already used your free alignment.
NO F n way lady I still have a coupon for a free front alignment, \
then she told me it was void cause they did the free alignment already. So i began to turn green (The HULK).
SO i told her if it was void and if they did use it how come i still have the free coupon. ta da I showed it to her, still in the book that I recieved when I bought the car. So anyway well will wait to see what happens next fri. The forman told me it could be a tire problem, Now I have the Michelin energy Tires on this car and from experience Michelin tires are the best you can get, I've always bought michelin tires cause they actually have a quality product, unlike Chev.

 

OK so I took the Car down on fri for my service that was scheduled, Oil change and pulling to the left problem. I dropped it off at 8:30am and I stopped down at 3:30pm and they said it was ready but there was a hold on my work order for the shop forman to review. SO they called me at 5:30p, and told me my car wasn't ready but i could have it for the weekend. (How nice of them to give me MY car for the weekend) Only if I took it back on monday because the forman wasn't happy with the results. they told me they had 3 techs and the forman working on the car and it still wasn't fixed. WAY TO GO GM and thier products. what F%$@N junk this car turned out to be.

They did a tire swap left to right thing and that didn't help so they did a front end alignment and that didn't work. so know they want to do a 4 wheel alignment. in which i had it done 2 times already and it didn't work. what is up with this car could something be bent on the front. keeping in mind that I didn't hit any major holes in the road and i don't abuse the car, except for driving fast sometimes.

IS there allot of people having problems with this pulling to the left thing. One of my friends with a 06 SS/SC is have a problem with the pulling left thing.

 

I am having the same sort of problem, not only to the left though... Sometimes just pulls to a side. Also, when i brake hard my stearing wheel shakes, so i got warped rotors and i only got 5500km's on my baby so far. It's an 06. I'll be taking it in shortly, plus gotta do an oil change...

 

OK Here is an update, So i took back the car on monday so they could continue working on the pulling to the left problem, they called me at 530 and told me they didn't have it fixed yet, so they were willing to give me a sunfire to drive till mine is fixed, so i agreed to that.
Here it is tuesday, they phoned me again at 4:00pm and told me they haven't figured out the problem yet, they told me it's most likely a problem with the back either a casting defect or something is bent. Ok this is starting to really **** me off, I don't abuse my car or drive the **** out of it, but I do like to hit the gas every now and then, from a roll.

I told her is going to be any fuel in the car when i get it back cause i took it down there with a full tank, she began to tell me "well i know the guys have been driving it to figure out the problem but we will see what we can do"

Now I can't remember if i told anyone else but when I took the car down last Fri Aug 4 they put like 87kms on it, and gave it back to me with no fuel in it whatsoever. So you can imagine what the kms are going to be like after i get it back and they had it two full days and maybe more to come. The good news is I won't be paying for a thing. Horeah score one for GM.


IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM? and i will keep everyone posted as to the fix for this when I ever get the car back.

And do you think that they already fixed the problem and are just keeping the car from me? Sometimes I wonder.

 

If I were you, after the second time and still no fix, I would have driven it straight to another GM dealer to get looked at.

 

I would have drove to the next nearest dealer but that is 4 hrs away from me. Not an option.

I Went down today they told me the car was ready, when i got there they told me it will be another hour to clear up the paper work for warrenty, that was fine I've waited this long what's another hour right.
1 HOUR LATER.......
so I looked over my car for dings and scratches. perfect! Then i procceded to sign the papers and they didn't have my keys, they lost them!!! it took 3 people to track down my keys. I hop into my car everything is as i left it, GOOD. So as i look around I noticed that my parking brake is down and the car is in gear, weird. last time i took it there they did the same thing, so I hummed and hawed and I pulled the park brake up and nothing no clicks no strain and the car was rolling backwards.
So i went back up to the service manager and told her to get in the car and pull up the parking brake, she looked puzzled, I told her "just do it" she did pull on it with both hands and nothing even she starts to curse. she went back into the shop and got a tech to try, the key work there is TRY, to fix the brake and he broke the button.

Now they have a new handle and complete rear brake cables on order for me but i leave for Vacation in 4 days for 2 weeks. So now I have another apointment for Aug 31 for that to get fixed. OH ya they did fix the pulling to the left problem, but it still doesn't track to the center it either goes left or right now but i can live with it till I trade it in when I comes back from VAC, and Oh they put another 290KMS on the car and didn't replace the fuel they used. next time I will leave it empty. I can't wait to get my Toyota Truck I'm done with GM Products.

Nothing but monkeys. If it were MY dealership I would plow it under and build a Hooters or a strip club. All they have are allot of apprentices and a hand full of techs, who think they can fix things but just stand there and look at it with their thunb up the bum trick, and watch the apprentices **** up everything.
