Should we be able to block members when we want to? Mods too :)

Hello guys. Some forums have a way for you to block members you want. For instance, if there's someone on here that really bother's you, or you don't care to read their posts, or it's a troll, there would be a button by their name to block them. After pushing it, you wouldn't see any of there posts anymore, they wouldn't be able to pm you, and you wouldn't even know they were on the site anymore. Now while most of us don't have any real problems with anyone in particular, vote if you think we should atleast have that option or not. Thank you. I'm curious to know what the mods think as well.

View said person's profile[me] and then click "add said person[me] to ignore list".

So the option is already there.

Right, but I mean where it's right by your name without having to click the profile button first. Also, it doesn't make that person disappear, it still shows the name, and then gives a message. "This message is hidden because CoBOT is on your ignore list. " It would be more convenient if it just didn't show their name at all.

I don't think we should be able to block their posts but....we should and could already ignore their PM's, which is a good thing.

If we ignore their posts we would double-post and other members would ge agrivated. Therefore everyone would ignore everyone else and it would be a headache!!

That's possible. However, if someone's worth blocking, then it's probably because they're not posting anything worth reading? But I see what you mean, because someone might repeat what someone else said, and the person who repeated it doesn't know because they blocked the original person who said it.

The problem with that is this... you can get very disoriented in a thread when posts are missing. Believe me... I've gone back to re-read a thread after posts have been deleted.... a lot of the time by mods. It's not easy to keep up with the conversation.
