Installed today CAB's tran mounts my info on them

well i just did like 3 or 4 first to second gear shifts hard and the wheel hop and banging of the engine is gone..

but with those to tranny mounts does the car ever shake (WOW)omg..

the shifts feel alittle smoother but i dont think its worth the rattle and shaking of the car

all in all they help for wheel hop but if u like a smooth ride do not buy mounts

i prob plan on taking them back out sometime this week

also doing the CAB's it throw off my alingment(not great speller)so there go's more money doing that

if anyone wants to buy those mounts off me ill prob sell them for 50 or 60 bucks lmk

They'll loosen up over time and maybe reach a tolerable level for you. It was certainly more vibration than I expected at first, but it is alot better now, just took a couple thousand aggravating miles. Since the front mount is easy to change (10 min. tops), I can switch it in and out between racing and long drives. Don't know which mounts you got, but you might want to give them some more time to break in and then make a decision later.

That's what I was told when I complained on these forums, too, didn't believe it either, but none the less, they have gotten about 50% better since then, just took awhile. As far as drilling holes in them, I haven't got a clue what that would do.

I'va also heard that a slightly higher idle reduces the vibrations.

I have the Intense poly tranny inserts sitting on my workbench, and stage 2 on order, so if I get the bushings installed before my stage 2 kit arrives I can test that out.

Any other opinions on this?

When I first installed my ZZP Billet Engine Mount and Poly Tranny Mount, I had awful vibrations, but no wheel hop. After about a month the vibes have decreased a good bit, but I'm not gonna lie, there still there. I didn't think the vibes would decrease at all either after I felt how bad they were at first, but they did. But if your not a fan of getting vibrations at all, I would try to go an alternate route.

ya i think the other route would be CAB's and track bars

those 2 togerther will reduse all your wheel hop and keep a smooth ride

id say go for a motormount, the vibes arent that bad, the trans mount does give the most vibes, i have the cab's motor mount and lowered and my wheel hope is gone, with minimal vibs from the motor mount.

For those that have installed poly engine and trans mounts:
Is it just me or is the distinct supercharger whine sound different now? Seems quieter. Maybe due to more noticeable engine noise inside now. What do you think?

There's definately more engine noise which in turns drowns out the whine, but the engine note does seem alot more aggressive, at least from inside.

yeah engine noise just kinda drowns out the whine. I haven't heard it from the outside yet though. I know when i turn on my AC the car shakes like crazy.

The mounts will settle so some of the vibes wil stop but there will alwasy be vibes especially between 1-2k rpms. As well if you get stage 2 or some other power upgrade and a tune the engine will run smoother and the vibes will settle a lil more. i personally love the vibes.

I now have the Ingals ETD installed with my transaxle mounts. And I love them, the vibes don't bother me at all. Especially when you put the boot down :-)

I think the Ingals took some of the edge off the vibes at idle. So if the mounts break in over time and the vibes get better I would say this isn't a bad route to go at all.
