I have an 05 2.2l Cobalt Ls with magnaflow catback and injen intake coming soon. I am going to get a remote start for christmas and wanted to know if anyone has it installed on their cobalt? if so how did it come out? the remote start that i am going to get runs for $700 but a friend that works at a car audio place is going to get it for me for $300.

 

I'm in the same boat as you, but I'm going to try and order the system thats available as an option in the 07+ Cobalts. I have no idea of how much this is going to cost.

 

I have it installed on my 05 LT Sedan. No problems. It's an audiovox unit. Make sure that they tie it seamlessly into the security system or it will throw codes.

 

You can get the viper one for $250.00 shipped. This one is the top of the line and it should work. If you have a manual transmission some shops wont install it though.

i had one on the sunfire it was a liveing nightmare. it was nice when it worked right i loved it. such a nice thing to have in the wintor. but like most GM cars i dont know if the cobalt has it but my sunfire has the alarm where if you try to hot wire my car it cuts the full off to my motor. my remote starter would triger that and i couldint get my car to start for about 25. it sucked so bad. and i couldint lock it because it might have started on me. so i got it taken out and its nice without it i can lock my car now.
