mike, how does eeprom reset work? i had mine set to boot straight into the modchip, and I had the wireless bridge on and it booted right online with halo 2. so i toasted my eeprom. can it be reset? or should i just replace the chip.

 

the hard drive is locked with a eeprom code that is programmed into the motherboard. You cant just replace the motherboard. You need to get a replacement motherboard and Hard Drive combo from a place like www.llamma.com

 

No you don't. You can replace the hard drive alone or the motherboard alone. You just have to prepare the hard drive correctly.

 

but what i am saying is the mod chip has a eeprom reset feature? how does that work? if i reset will i lose all the movies and games on it now?

You can jsut replace your eeprom by de sodlering and soldering but i dont believe you ahve the codes and such needed to transfer. lol you N00B chime in reeper you bought 1 of my modded xbox's

 

That is correct. the only way i know of changing the eeprom on the motherboard is by doing this which is not the easiest to do. Hey mkulrey not sure if you were a big member on the xbox scene forums back in the day but I was the guy that put the xbox components into a technodrome from TMNT.

i was somewhat active on XS but since 360 hevnt been on much. guess now we can run backups on the 360 now lol. im so out of it. xbox is just way to much fun to mod haha

 

I hear ya there. I pretty much havnt been on there either now that 360 is out. Once i figured out how to mod the xbox and hung out for awhile til i got mine fully modded. Thing that sucks is my gfs dog tripped over the cords and pulled the entire thing off the dresser onto the floor and it broke into a million pieces so i have it back in the stock case but still have it modded with soft mods
