Bought my Balt today!

Hey everyone,
I've been reading the site for a few months in anticipation to buy a SS S/C. Well, today I got myself this sweet '06 w/ blue inserts. I wanted a recaro, but in my area there are 0. I love it already, its a bit hard to do lane changes with this big friggen spoiler, but otherwise no complaints!

I'm breaking it in, any tips would be greatly appreciated. I want to slap an engine dampener as well as intake on her asap. Should I wait until break-in is over?

I'm a ian, so I was hoping someone could point out where the best place for parts is?

I will be installing a LSD down the road, I believe it's going to cost around $1500, is this accurate?

Could someone please give me a heads-up about anything I should know which might not be obvious.

Right on, I can barely type, haven't eaten all day as I've been car shopping.

Take it easy,
Ryan

Hi Ryan and congrats on the new car. Don't wait for the intake or Ingalls, they will be fine. Also order your stage 2 as you will want it. As for the LSD search the threads as there is a complete transaxle for $1905.US and that is much easier and cheaper. I paid $1445.US for the LSD and $770. to install it and I am doing the tranny re & re.
As for parts check out the supporting vendors but be ready to pay the duties\taxes on top of the US pricing.

Shop around for parts. Compare prices. Lordco has some things. Turbotechracing is a great place.

Do alot of reading. All the questions have been asked and answered (over and over)
PM's are a great way to communicate fo specific questions without getting flamed.

Im in Nanaimo on Van Isl, I'm excited today to shave every damn thing off but the SS badges. Hopefully it's not a pain in the ass with this tape they use!

I can't wait to make a meet, I absolutely love these cars. I was varying RPM breaking it in, and just going from 3K - 4.5K was pretty quick in 2nd gear, think I jumped about 25km/h, not like my old heavy ass cougar which did 0-60 in about 11 seconds. I haven't even hit redline on purpose yet (I did miss a gear, damnit).

Hope to see you guys around soon,
Ryan

Congrats on the purchase! I just bought mine in June at Baljet's in Duncan but I live here in Nanaimo too.

I've got a Silver SS/SC -- hope to see you around. Ever go to the Timmies on Bowen?

You weren't in Parksville today, perchance, were you?

Saw a Black SS/SC with Baljet Chevrolet stickers on it sometime around noon coming from the inland highway and nearly into Parksville itself.

I was in my silver SS.
