GMPP or Magnaflow

Which exhaust would be better for my SS/SC? Looking for a deep tone in sound. I know the gains for the GMPP exhaust is 5hp and Magnaflow is 7hp/13tq. Price diffeence isnt that much either, GMPP = $455 (after shipping and new tip) and the Magnaflow = $500 (after shipping, tip included). It seems clear to me that the Magnaflow would be the better choice, all opinions and suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

Tough decision still, seems like GMPP is the more popular choice so far. I have heard a lot of good things about both systems. Keep the suggestions coming and thanks for those who replied.

It wasn't a discount or anything, it's just how much the muffler shop charged me.

Also, WHO CARES IF YOUR EXHAUST IS UNDER WARRENTEY!?!?

Seeing as there's a group buy right now I'd say go GM and save some dollars. Mine was like like $404 $405, it's considerably cheaper.

Is your exhaust really loud with no resonator?

Muffler and cat back are not the same thing. I can see you getting a $200 magnaflow muffler, but to get a $200 magnaflow cat back, that **** was stolen off a truck or something else. Seeing as we were talking about a cat back and not a muffler then in fact $400 is less than $500, considerably. Now, you give me the number of this shop and if they can in fact sell me a non defective/legitimate magnaflow cat back for my Cobalt for $200, I'll kiss your ass.

i like my magnaflow, but it didnt help me much performance wise as u can tell from my dyno results. and with my intake i can barely hear my exhaust now anyway, imo i think you should get a header, the performance gain seems like it would be greater, or maybe get the zzp header/downpipe combo that i want.

You can get the Magnaflow from modernperformance.com for $500 shipped. I am planning to get the TOG header and the downpipe w/ highflow cat from cobalt addiction. Warranty is not an issue either. The only bad thing, is that the group buy ends Monday for the GMPP exhaust. What to do...

Might I ask why you would need to get a "cat-back" exhaust? Stock piping is all 2.5" mandrel bent execpt about 1 and 1/2 feet back from the muffler, and where the resonator flange is. I took the resonator out, and replaced the rear section with 2.5" piping. I don't see why you would want/need to replace 2.5" piping with 2.5" piping? Seems kinda like a waste of money IMO.

Go with GMPP, its really deep, a buddy of mine has it and it sounds really good. If you have extra cash get the corsa touring. I prefer the corsa sport.

It looks like GMPP is the way to go then. Selfinfliction, when did they discontinue Magnaflow? Thanks for all the input.
