Made a video (not work safe)

Gotcha...

Anyways, thought you might be interested. I made a short vid last night using my new digicam. Now that the P&P head is working as originally planned, it's running alot smoother now. Check engine light is still on as a result of an exhaust leak at the manifold (part of gasket flew off).

Anyways hope you enjoy. This will be one of a few vids to come shortly. I am new to this, so time will tell as to what else comes from me. Enjoy.

well I'm sorry I bought my car before the redline and SS/SC were even out yet. Not to mention I needed 4 doors instead of 2. Good for you though, that you have a S/C to "ooh and ahh" at. Really, I am happy for you.

im behind you ss/sc is for mid life crisis guys and kids with rich parents... plus if i truly wanted to, i would spend money on turbo and be faster then an ss/sc for less money overall

I am 19, put 10,000 of my own money down and financed the other 13 for 60 months paying 262 a month. Did I mention i am a full time student at UCF paying with student loans? Did I also mention I pay for my own gas? Hmm, did I also mention that if you slap a turbo in your car, you still won't get half the attention that I will in one week for the duration of the life of your car?

btw: nice vid, is that really 3rd gear goin up to about 120-125?

and for you.

**** you.

Im 26 years old. Ive been married for 6 years and have a 3 year old son.
Im financially stable enough to afford more, but i wanted the peppy ss/sc for its potential, and its stellar fuel mileage for my daily driver.

Making a sweeping comment like you just made, makes you look nothing other than someone who has some serious envy and wishes they had the money to drop on the ss/sc.
You give cobalt N/A's a bad name.

You keep dreaming of that turbo buddy.

I would have to third the argument, that was a rude remark. I am 18, bought this car with my own money, pay 309 a month, work 35-40 hours a week, and I am also a full time student at SCC. I also pay for gas, phone, maintenance, ect...

And I still manage to have a life outside of work and school.

Hmm, My parents haven't paid a dime for my car. I am a full time student also working 32hrs a week paying for this thing. I pay for everything including insurance, gas, and all of my modifications.

As for your turbo statement.... You won't turbocharge your cobalt and have it be faster and more reliable than an SS/SC for less. Sorry...

Yeah, I'm 22 and make every single car payment on my own. And you may make more power with a turbo, but not for less, and not for long without spending more.

forget "this I'm this age and this is my story of how I afford my car" ... saturndud just got a bit overzealous with the defensive comments ....

lets instead focus on how much that video licks nut and how he sounds like a guy who would wear a pocket protector

Yeah I'm gonna have to agree. I'm 19 now: I put down 13,000 of my own, financed 5,000 for 3 years, and got 7,000 from my parents, ONLY BECAUSE I EARNED MY 100% SCHOLARSHIP to college. I work 2 part time jobs, averaging about 40-45 hours a week. I pay for my gas, insurance, cell phone, all maintenance and mods for my car, and a bunch of other stuff. I don't want to cause an argument, but before you make a comment like that, think about what you are saying. I started cutting lawns when I was 12 years old because I live this way:

WORK HARD, PLAY HARD.

i wasnt going to be a dick but you've pissed me off. im sorry i wasted my time looking at that video. the ***** slow as ****, where is your little "sedan that could" gonna go over 100 + anyway other than the street, thats embarassing. i dont even have a ss/sc i have a sunfire s/c ill make a video of some pulls in my sunfire this week and then you can run your mouth about them. the quality will be really bad cause its a digi cam video but youll get the point of what my car can do.

and i am happy i have a s/c to "ooh and ahh" at, hell of alot entertaining then that video.

btw chris and merc, damn rich kids

Honestly, you really don't have to be a dick about things. I posted the vid up because I wanted to. I knew negative comments were going to head my way, thats fine. I'm not going to cry about it, though it sounds like you would if someone made fun of your ride. Hey you know what? Great, go ahead and post vids of your sunfire pulling. Glad you had to prove something. Maybe your trying to compensate by playing the "my car is faster than yours" game.

And for those of you that have an SS/SC, I am honestly happy for you. Everyone should have a car that makes them happy. While mine isn't nearly as fast as a redline or SS/SC, I'm still very happy with it. That's all that truly matters.

As for the hating going on, I'm glad to see people getting over their differences. It shows how mature and civilized people can be. Honestly, why do people sign up to these forums without an open mind? Makes me sick actually. For those of you respectful enough to know we all share a common goal, THANK YOU. For those of you that love to bash others bbecause of their preferences in a damn car they drive, I hope one day you come to terms that someone will always have something nicer, faster and better looking than your ride. Once you realize that, you'll be fine. Until then, you remind me of spoiled children.

there wouldn't have been any hating..... you started that yourself.... I personally don't care what you drive as long as you strive to make it faster your ok in my book... but comments like the one you made ain't gonna make you anyfriends...
and by the way I"m 27 pay for everything and work 40-60 hrs a week and my parents hate my obsession for cars and never gave me a dime for em (I'm on my 24th by the way) just helps to be mechanically inclined...
I am glad someone is trying to go the NA way, but to build a reliable high horsepower turbo motor outta a 2.2 just ain't gonna be cheap... but good luck either ways..,, keep us posted if you do it.
