i tell you this car's interior is pissing me off, my old cav never had a problem..the fabric on the passenger door panel is bubbling up, mind you they already replaced the drivers door panel for the same issue, pissed the hell out of me though because they put it on wrong so there is a huge gap when you open the door, broke the clip behind the door handle, and broke the clip in the trim cup. Im going to go bitch at the service manager tomorrow morning.

Our Inteior does suck, the top of my shift knob fell off, the sunroof button trim fell offf, and the window makes a scraping noise going up and down and lets air in when its closed.

All those problems dont necessarily mean his car is a lemon. All of those problems can be fixed I believe. To claim a lemon, the problem or problems must occur at least three times or more. It must affect the driveability of the car...meaning if your radio dies and the dealership tries to fix it three times or more and they dont..u cant claim a lemon. You need something like an overheating problem....or something keeps breaking inside the motor...etc....something really serious. The third reason would be if your vehicle is out for repairs for more than 30 business days. Once something like this happens you can claim a lemon...but it isnt easy....ask others about how much of pain in the ass it is claim lemon. I'm sure some else can elaborate on this...but I dont feel like it...

I think i would know what it takes for a lemon because GM just bought back my piece of ****. It was on it's 2nd CEL for a lean air/fuel mixture when the were already talking about it. it doesnt have to be a "serious" problem... i had no performance issues and they still decided "it is in yours and GM's best intrest to buy back the car.." Dont you even think about telling me how much of a pain it is to claim lemon it took me a lil over 3 months of bitching at gm but i got it there. and im pretty sure all the **** that was wrong with his car was more than affecting the driveability

Really............so I'm suppose to believe GM bought your car back because it threw a 2nd cel code for lean air/fuel mixture???? I dont......there must have been something seriously wrong with your car or you knew someone that really knew how to pull some chains. I better tell all cobalt owners if your throw 2 cel lights they can get a new car. Please....you obviously have no idea what your talking about. You had no performance issues.......if you had cel light for lean air/fuel....that'll affect your performance. What zzzzzz has wrong with his car may affect the driveability alittle....but not enough for it to necessarily considered to be dangerous enough not drive on the road. Like I said....unless he's brought the car in mulitiply times.....or more than 30 business days of repair..he cant claim lemon.....and like he has now said...he bought it used...so he cant claim lemon...and here's better explaination of what a lemon is.....
What is a Lemon?
A vehicle that continues to have a defect that substantially impairs its use, value, or safety. Generally, if the car has been repaired 4 or more times for the same Defect within the Warranty Period and the Defect has not been fixed, the car qualifies as a Lemon. All States differ so you should consult the Lemon Law Summary and the State Statutes for your particular State. Note that the warranty period may or may not coincide with the Manufacturer's Warranty.

Do I have a Lemon?
If the paint is peeling, the light switch came out when you pulled on it, the car makes "funny noises" but otherwise drives just fine, or you found 10 things you don't like about your new car but none of them prevent you from driving it, then No, you do not have a Lemon.
If the brakes don't work, the car won't go into reverse gear, the darn thing won't start on cold mornings or hot afternoons, the rear door opens all by itself, the driver's seat wobbles, or the car chugs along at 30 mph when it should be going 50 mph, then Yes, you may have a Lemon. Providing you've given the manufacturer an opportunity to repair the defect.

In most States, 10 different defects during the Warranty Period does not brand the car as a Lemon. In some States, a single defect that might cause Serious Injury makes your car a Lemon if the manufacturer cannot fix the problem within 1 attempt.

You may have a Lemon, but if you do nothing to protect your Consumer Rights, such as documenting your Repairs and allowing the Manufacturer a chance to fix the problem(s), you lose all rights under the various State Warranty Acts.

so explain to me how GM bought your car back after throwing only 2 cel lights???? I'm sure the car was still driveable when you brought it to the dealership.
