i think the manual calls it a coolant heater, its a cord you can plug in over night so that your engine is warm in the morning

If you want, you can actually remove that cord completely during the summer months so its out of the way. It just unscrews from the heater element. Mines in the trunk right now with the spare tire.

It is an option you have to ask for, so if you don't have one, that's why.

I was joking, I know what a block heater is, we just don't need them in Arizona.

if i unscrew it will there be like a hole or something for dirt to get in that ill have to cover? I probably wont even use it in the winter so unscrewing it doesnt bother me but I dont want it to corrode up so that i wont be able to use it if i want to
actually i never asked for it, maybe in canada its standard, just a thought

well it says in the manual to only use it below -18degC, and it rarely gets that cold here, so i wont be using it

it is on the back side of the engine towards the firewall, on the passenger side, if you take off the plastic cover and look down there are 2 copper tubes sticking out with some sort of fitting on the end. its possible that if you dont have a block heater that you dont even have this though

i measured the thread and i think its metric, damn metric thread, now i have to find an m25x1.75 tapered cap, unless its something else, but it measured right at 25mm, and my thread guage is standard, but it was awful close to 14 tpi

halfcent, what did you use to cover it?

Mine isn't covered. I didn't feel it needed the extra protection. Instead of trying to find a threaded cap, it might be easier to just get a push-on plastic cap. Trick is of course you have to find one in the right size.
