My SS/SC gets up to about 223 degrees after 5-10 mins of normal driving then the fan finally kicks on and cools it. What could the problem be? What is normal running tempeture. Should I worry.......is this high enough to damage my engine/cooling system. All help is much appreciated!

on the highway im like 180-190 which i think is normal but when i jump off and hit a light it will rise to about 223-226

 

Sounds normal to me moving along the cooling dan dones't need to be on to prevent overheating. Changing the Thermostat would lower your cruising temps. THough I don't have any idea myself of how to change the temp your fan kicks in at.
